Nike Dunk Low History Background SanderGee

Created in 1985, the Nike Dunk Low was made specifically for basketball. Similar to the Air Jordan 1, these sneakers go way back with the skateboarding scene and shares an interesting history.

Before the Nike SB Division was formed in the 2000s. The Nike Dunk Low was the go-to sneaker for skaters.

Dressed in funky colorways with great ankle supper and traction, the Dunk was seemingly the perfect shoe for skaters. Couple that and the 3M reflective panels with the low price and you’ve got yourself an irresistible deal.

Not only were these features helpful with maneuvering and sticking skaters to their boards, it didn’t break the bank. This sneaker is exactly what inspired Nike to create the SB Division after recognizing this highly lucrative market.

Today, many believe that more so than a performance focused shoes, the Dunk Low is now a lifestyle one. The inclusion of suede and similar materials pretty much support that claim. However, this lifestyle sneaker in 2020 has become a cultural icon.

Similar to other Dunk collaborations, the Kasina Nike Dunk Low Industrial Blue is also expected to be extremely popular.

EunHyuk Lee, the founder of Kasina, has an ambitious vision for his brand. That ambition is unprecedented by any other Korean street-wear company so far.

Kasina used to be a Skateboard shop with no street-wear clothing in the beginning. They did however, have sports-wear from companies such as Adidas and Nike.

Lee admitted in an interview that Korea pretty much borrowed all of its styles and trends from Japan. Anything that’s hot in that region, particularly Tokyo, is imported to South Korea.

EunHyuk Lee believes that his company will establish South Korea’s own street-wear identity. It will do so through exciting new collaborations with brands such as Reebok and now Nike. Lee today is renowned as a catalyst for street-wear in South Korea.

Resale Value

Although they industrial blue colorway is almost identical to the Neptune Green colorway. I believe these won’t be quite as profitable because they’re easier to get however, the Industrial Blue will still be very profitable.

To get your money back on StockX, you’ll need to sell for at least $145. By using my estimated resell value, that’s an average gross profit of around $450 per pair!

On websites such as eBay with service fee waivers, profits may be even higher.
