It’s likely that new six figure sneaker resellers who had the hustle, drive and knowledge emerged, taking part of the massive billion dollar sneaker pie. Of course, sneaker bots are a huge part of the equation in building such businesses which is why we recently dropped a guide on those as well.

(If you’re reading this later in 2019, here’s the full list for May 2019’s profitable releases)

Bape x Adidas UltraBoost (Black Camo & Green Camo)
The upcoming collaboration between BAPE and Adidas is set to be dropping just ahead of Super BOWL LIII. The collection will include multiple items but the Ultraboost’s are getting the most
attention.
Both colourways are covered in BAPE’s signature camo with Ultraboost elements across the cage overlay, heel, inner lignin and tongue. Similar to the Adidas x BAPE NMD’s we saw drop in 2016 the Ultraboost pairs are going to be hard to get but the resale should be quite high on these ones.
Retail price: USD$200 (TBC)
Expected resale: USD$500 – USD$650
Slated release date: Feb 2nd 2019
Nike x Solefly, Air Jordan 1
Inspired by their home city of Miami, the boutique store SoleFly is collaborating with Nike on the most coveted of silhouettes – the Nike Air Jordan 1. Dropping in 2x colourways; The Patent Black/Green and the Sail/Red version are a thing of beauty!
Originally released in December 8th 2018 around Art Basel in Miami, crowd madness caused the event to be shut down and the shoes became even rarer/ desired!
Currently going for a cool USD$1,800+ for the Sail/Red Version and an amazing USD $3,500+ for the Black/Green version rumours are spreading of a restock of these super coveted shoes.
With a higher than original stock numbers (expected 10,000 – 20,000 stock) the shoes are an absolute must target as the resale price will make it all worth the while!
Retail price: USD$160
Expected resale: USD$1,000 – USD$1,750
Slated release date: Potentially drop towards the start of Feb 2019 (TBC)
Nike Air Max 97 x Sean Wotherspoon 2019(re-release/ tear away/ blue colourway)
Without a doubt one of the best looking sneakers to drop in 2018 and was an absolute beast in the resale market – released on Air Max day 2018 (March 26th) in the light blue/lemon wash corduroy the Air Max was modelled on Sean Wotherspoon’s love of vintage Nike hats from the 1980’s.
Instagram has been awash with samples/ teasers of potential other colourways of the Air Max 97 – a tear away model where an amazing floral design is stored underneath, a light blue/blue version and a re-release of the current model have all been rumoured to happen in 2019. No confirmation as of yet to any of the items being released but without a doubt if they do they will sell out fast!
Retail price:USD$160 (TBC)
Expected resale: USD$650 – USD$750
Slated release date: March 26th 2019 (TBC)
Sacai x Nike – Blazer (Yellow/White & Blue/Black)
Previewed during the 2018 Paris Fashion week the Sacai x Nike collaboration is expected to drop in 2x colourways; Yellow/white/red/black and the blue/black/white.
Both of the pairs double up the features of the Nike Blazer with laces, padded tongues, Swoosh branding and midsole mudguards both being doubled up on the pair.
Rumoured for release mid-February/March (no official word from either Sacai or Nike) both silhouettes offer a fresh look to the much loved Blazer model – no confirmation of the retail price is available but based on the premium nature of Sacai we can expect a USD$150 – USD$250 retail price.
Retail price: USD$150 – USD$250 (TBC)
Expected resale: USD$600 – USD$750
Slated release date: February / March 2019
Adidas FutureCraft ZX 4000 4D
The FutureCraft ZX 4000 4D is another sneaker release that was expected for release in 2018 (originally slated for November 2018) – the design mixes the 90’s ZX 4000 sneaker with the FutureCraft midsole. With a blend of suede, mesh and colourful design this is one of the best looking FutureCraft models in this writers opinion!
Potentially coming in 2x silhouettes (deep crimson hue vs a pink accent version) both models are currently selling for around USD$800 on StockX . As with all FutureCraft models the entry price point is quite high (due to the new technology in the midsole) this is often means a slight decrease in your profit margins but not to fear this model has had quite a bit of hype around it so the resale should still hold quite strong.
Retail price: USD$350. USD$450
Expected resale: USD$600 – UD$800
Slated release date: April 2019 (TBC)
Off White x Nike, The 10 – Air Force 1 (MCA)
Even though the collaboration between Off White and Nike is rumoured to be ending this year it doesn’t mean that Virgil cant entice us with some unreleased colourways!
Spotted on Virgil in a photo with Juergen Teller the Off White x Nike Air Force 1 could potentially drop in June 2019 in an eye popping blue leather. Potentially being release at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago much the same as the release of the MoMA exclusive pair earlier in 2018.
Being even more exclusive than the standard Off White x Nike releases expect the resale price to be much higher than usual.
Retail price: USD $160 – USD$220 (TBC)
Expected resale: USD$2,200 – USD$3,000
Slated release date: June 2019
Travis Scott x Nike, Air Jordan 4 & 1
La Flame does it again! Since the original Cactus Jack drop back in 2018 the Travis Scott X Nike collaborations have produced aesthetically pleasing renditions of classic Jordan silhouettes. This time around Travis is working on a host different models for potentially release in 2019 but the Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 1 silhouettes are going to be the best of the lot.
The Air Jordan 4 silhouette is inspired by the Houston Oilers – coming in a Friends & Family version and the standard version both follow similar design to the original Jordan 4 Cactus Jacks including the same branding on the back heel tab, interior tongue tags and printed insoles.
The Air Jordan 1 is dressed in earth brown tones, red Nike tongue tags as well as the most noticeable feature a backwards Nike Swoosh! Videos have also surfaced online of a hidden money Velcro pocke on the inner liner.
Slated for release in April 2019 much coveted Jordan 1 silhouette will be a hot item and disappear quickly off shelves.
(Update: These have now been delayed to a June 2019 release until further notice).
It’s shoes with prices like these that definitely are the reason that the sneaker aftermarket makes up a billion dollar pie that teens make six figures from.
Retail price:
Jordan 4 USD$225
Jordan 1 USD$160
Expected resale:
Jordan 4 USD$400 – USD$550
Jordan 1 USD$550 – USD $750
Slated release date:
Jordan 4 – June 2019 (TBC)
Jordan 1 – April 2019 (TBC)
MindSeeker x Vans, Old Skool (Flame and Lightning)
The final shoe to round out our list is the potential re-release of collaboration between Japan Brand MindSeeker and Vans. The duo collaborated in 2018 to produce an incredibly limited run of graphic focused Old Skool sneakers.
The original pairs were dropped in 2018 in a flame and lightning bolt version – each design included contrasting orange & blue stitching, Protect Your Brain across the shoe and MindSeeker branding on the tongue and heels.
These will be incredibly hard to get a hold of, not only will the limited quantities cause issues but the language barrier may also cause issues to purchase, count yourself lucky if you can get yourself a pair as they have some serious resale!
Retail price: USD$85 – USD$150
Expected resale: USD$500 – USD$1,000
Slated release date: Late January – March 2019 (TBC)
