Nike is preparing for a celebratory holiday season with various prime releases from household-name athletes.

What’s more, one of the shoes will be sure to compliment your ugly Christmas sweater, while the other two is sure to accommodate your crossover on the hardwood.

The distinct difference is because the Nike Air Max 95 boasts a “Christmas Sweater” colorway while the other is the “Christmas” Lebron 7 and Kobe 5 Protro model.

Also, the Nike Air Max 95 was actually a kids-exclusive release, however, Christmas appropriate nonetheless.

The Nike Air Max 95 has already released earlier this month but is more than appropriate to be mentioned in Nike’s holiday releases.

The imminent Lebron 7s retro drop in the Christmas makeover is expected to release on December 19th for a $200 price point.

Meanwhile, Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro “Chaos”, will release the day after Christmas, December 26th at $180 retail price.

The Air Max 95 Ugly Sweater already dropped earlier this month, on December 2nd.

Since both athletes, Lebron James and Kobe Bryant, are signed by the behemoth Nike themselves, look for Nike and other stores to include the release.

The list will be updated as we arrive closer to the drop.

Some other footsites may also decide towards keeping stock in the pairs, so be sure to keep it locked to Six Figure Sneakerhead for updates.

LEBRON 7 “CHRISTMAS”: DEEP DIVE

The Lebron 7s is at-bat in the line-up of Christmas sneaker releases that Nike has scheduled to end the year.

Lebron James, as old as he is, is still on another level with NBA professionals half the age as him.

His kicks game is also on another level, as we’ve seen “The Chosen One” wear hyped sneakers like Jerry Lorenzo’s Spruces.

Fans of Lebron and Nike’s long-time collaboration will enjoy the fact that the Nike Lebron 7s are coming back in a “Christmas” makeover to retailers.

To be more specific, the makeover will include a red, black, and metallic silver color scheme that resembles Christmas colors.

The Nike Lebron 7s features a smooth transition of the black upper into a radiant red. In addition, the midsole will include an Air Max element built for comfort and aesthetics.

The quarter and rear panel include red lines that pierce through the black in a cross-hatch design.

The heel collar includes Lebron’s circular branding, stating “L23”, paying homage to his number 23 on his jersey back.

Finally, the black outsole, white Nike Swoosh branding, and The King’s signature tongue complete the look.

Lebron James is known to entertain his fans, be it in the Staples Center or social media. James was recently on an unboxing video of his Lebron 17s, where he actually admitted that the Lebron 7s is one of his favorite models.

Lebron is closing a gargantuan year of basketball and Hollywood, but look for the super-star to feature more sneakers in the year to come.

THE MAMBA’S PROTOS: CHRISTMAS EDITION

Kobe has been signed with Nike for the past couple of decades where the legendary Laker has accomplished 5 championship rings in his legendary NBA career.

The retired Kobe Bryant is still looking to create chaos in his shoe line this Christmas, with a retro treatment of the “Chaos” colorway from 2010.

Originally, the sneaker was in tribute to Batman arch-nemesis, the Joker.

The Kobe Protros silhouette has made some noise this year, and it seems that Nike will continue with holiday colors, even after Christmas, with the green and red color scheme.

This modern rendition of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Chaos” features a purple-like toe, a white midsole, bright green Nike Swoosh, and a lime green outsole.

Kobe’s trademark Mamba logo is proudly embroidered on the shoe’s tongue.

In addition, hints of red spots are seen throughout the white midsole base to exemplify detail and meticulous designing.

Similar to Lebron’s signature on his Christmas releasing sneakers, you can find Kobe’s lime green signature on the heel collar.

Finally, texts that read “Nike Zoom” is imprinted on the rear side to sustain the copious branding this shoe possesses.

xmas sneaker history

It would be a crime if this piece didn’t include a holiday-season themed sneaker gem from years prior: The 2017 Concepts Nike SB Dunk High “Ugly Christmas Sweater” and 2013 Nike SB “Ugly Christmas Sweater” Dunks.

This rendition was a testament to Nike SB’s partnership with east coast sneaker shop Concepts for some festive creation in lieu of the 2017 holiday season.

The model was released in full family sizing, thus the whole family can celebrate Christmas in style whilst opening presents.

Meanwhile, Concepts and Nike SB allowed sneakerheads to celebrate in style as well, with the 2013 festive makeover.

The year 2013’s Ugly Christmas design is still, in my own opinion, tough to beat.

Although the Air Max 95 Ugly Sweater this year makes for a decent challenge, the 2013 version is head and shoulders above.

To state the obvious, both of these models are reselling well over twice their retail value.

In addition, as common market practice, the price to obtain either of these kicks now is higher-than-average due to the current holiday season.

CHRISTMAS SNEAKERS RESALE GUIDE: LEBRON 7s

Not only has LBJ seem to bring his prime youth back, it looks like he’s bringing back a sneaker banger from 2009.

The 2009 edition of the sneaker retailed at $140, and although it took a decade, it more than doubled in price: $300. This is imperative in that it reveals that the 2019 rendition could have some resale value as well.

The well-known online exchange platform, eBay, also validates that the Lebron 7s Christmas from 2009 has done spectacularly in the resale market.

Unfortunately for the 2019 retro edition, it will be retailing at $175 and the higher retail price can significantly hinder profit margins.

It’s unclear at this moment if there will be limited pairs and more than likely this is a general release. If so, the resale projection for the shoes will be between $200 to $230.

CHRISTMAS SNEAKERS RESALE GUIDE: KOBE 5 PROTROS “CHAOS”

Similar to the parallels Lebron and Kobe share in their iconic basketball careers, their respective decade-long shoes also share similarities in resale.

Kobe+5+Protros+Chaos
Kobe 5 Protros “Chaos”

The first Kobe 5 Protros “Chaos” retailed in 2009 at $130, of which now resell for over $250.

Boasting a 100% return on investment is a positive trend of what could unfold for the 2019 edition.

Due to the fact the shoe is being brought back at a significant time of the year could pay dividends in its resale performance, albeit this might also be a general release shoe.

If it is a limited batch, look for an appealing resell trend for the Kobe Protos of around $200.

Nike looks to end the year by combining two of its most popular athlete signees from the basketball realm to their Christmas marketing forefront.

Both sneakers have earned a retro treatment, which is a favorite in not only the sneakerhead community but in the resale market.

In order for one to acquire each hyped and profiting shoe, keep it locked on Six Figure Sneakerhead. If you’re a novice in the world of reselling, consider purchasing the Hypemaster Playbook.
