If you think you were ready for this year’s hottest drops, make sure you’re ready for the Nike Air Force 1 Low Acorn’s highly anticipated return. They first debuted in 2002 and will be available in Natural/Underbrush-Acorn colorway.

It seems very easy for Nike to revive old releases. However, with the wide scale of the brand’s archive, anything they chose would inevitably be difficult. When the Air Force 1 “Acorn” returns for the first time since its 2002 launch, it’s expected to sell out in minutes.

The Nike Air Force 1 “Acorn” will be available on 29th April at a retail price of $130.

air max 1 – a brief history

When Nike first introduced Air Max 1 in 1982, they came up with a simple marketing ad slogan, “Air in a box”. The first-ever basketball shoe that featured Air technology with a pocket filled with air in the heel for cushioning and comfort.

Even though the Nike Tailwind was the first shoe to feature with “Air” technology, it was no easy task to infuse the “Air” technology into the Air Force 1, a basketball shoe. Nike was relatively a young player in the basketball world, while all their expertise lied in running.

Those two sports, of course, are vastly different. Running is a simple sport compared to basketball, where more cut, hard landing and jumping is involved. Nike shoe designer Bruce Kilgore rose to the occasion and took some inspiration from the Nike Approach hiking boots and came up with the Nike Air Force 1. For the outsole, he went with a circular outsole pattern so basketball players can get that sharp pivot movement in the post.

The silhouette that is now in short supply will be reintroduced, and sneakerheads can’t wait! The upper of the sneaker is almost entirely covered in autumnal hues, while the leather overlays are a softer caramel-like color and the suede beneath is more of an ecru color. A white midsole and a dark brown outsole that matches both the lacing unit and the padding.

No discussion of the Air Force 1 will be completed without considering the chunky Air filled midsole that provides optimum cushioning and support while still allowing air to flow through the toe box for a lightweight experience. (More pictures below)
