The Air Force 1 is a special sneaker, not only for sneaker-heads but also for Nike themselves. This was the master piece Nike used to enter the basketball game and establish their legacy.

After years of focusing on running shoes, officials at Nike considered it a gamble to enter the basketball game. They had simply never produced a basketball performance sneaker before. In the end however, it all paid off.

Bruce Kilgore was the mind behind the Air Force 1 for which he took inspiration from the Nike hiking boot.  Kilgore’s design was so high-tech at the time that it’s still used in Nike sneakers today.

‘Nike Air’ was also revolutionary at the time. Nike advertised with the tagline “A shoe so revolutionary, basketball may never be the same” and if you think about it, they were right. After 37 years, Nike Air is still used for cushioning in many Nike sneakers today.

The Air Force 1 released in 1982 but had production halted in 1984. Then due to popular demand, came back in 1986 in multiple colorways.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Wheat Mocha is considered one of its best colorways ever.

Considered one of the greatest Air Force 1 colorways ever. The originals weren’t nearly as hyped then as they are now.

That was mainly due to the fact that the sneaker world was extremely different. The internet wasn’t as main stream as it is today. Also, being a Japanese exclusive, the Wheat Mocha Air Force 1 probably didn’t fall onto many people’s radar when it released.

Today however, it’s an entirely different game. Nike’s realized the hype behind this colorway and have made it a tradition to releases similar sneakers for the fall season almost every year.

To estimate resale for the latest Wheat Mocha colorway, let’s head on over to StockX. By assessing similar sneakers, we can get a good idea of what to expect.
