Before we take a detailed look at this OG Jordan 1 High. Let me walk you through some history!

Jordan 1 | History

The “University Blue” is not just a college-colors program-inspired colorway. It’s a tribute to the University of North Carolina that Michael Jordan attended from 1981-1984.

The same university he graduated before he was the third overall pick for the 1984 NBA drafts. He was picked by the Chicago Bulls and went on to make history and achieve a status that few would ever emulate.

Michael Jordan’s admiration for his alma mater is shown through his sneakers various times, dating back to 1985 with the Jordan 1 UNC. In recent years, there have been various UNC-inspired colorways such as the Jordan 1 High UNC (2019).

These sneakers have been very profitable on reseller’s markets so to estimate resale for the latest rendition, the “University Blue”, let’s head on over to StockX.

Air Jordan 1 High Obsidian UNC

Nike

Retail Price: $160

Peak Resell: $860

Release Date: 08/31/2019

Colorway: SAIL/OBSIDIAN-UNIVERSITY BLUE

Also inspired by the University of North Carolina and reminiscent of the Jordan 1 High Patent, these sneakers are treated to an all-leather construction.

Sail underlays cover the side panels and perforated toe boxes while light blue covers the collars and rear panels. Black leather provides contrast on the toes and eye stays while also matching the black laces.

Sail midsoles and black outsoles complete the look.

On StockX, they’re currently reselling for an average price of $450 (gross profits of $290). The Air Jordan 1 High OG University Blue will likely have a similar resale value.

Nike yet again pays tribute to the UNC with this Jordan 1 High.

This time around, the leather upper is shrouded in more of the aforementioned university’s signature light-blue color tone.

Clean white leather covers the side panels and perforated toe boxes while University blue covers the toe region, eye stays, and rear panels.

Black laces provide contrast to the white throats that lead up to a pair of white tongues with blue Nike branding. White midsoles and light blue outsoles finish off the look.
