The Air Jordan 1 is perhaps the most popular Nike sneaker ever. It was made specially for the Chicago Bulls’ superstar, Michael Jordan after he signed with Nike in 1984. This was a highly popular sneaker and rose to fame along with the rising prospect, Michael Jordan.

Designed by the great Tinker Hatfield, it was to be something specifically designed for Michael. He hated the thick sole on the Air Force 1 and other characteristics of many Nike sneakers. Thus Hatfield had the difficult task of designing the perfect specialized sneaker for Michael Jordan.
At first, Michael hated them and thought they would make him “Look like a clown”. The Air Jordan however, began to grow on him and to Tinker’s relief, he approved them for use on the court shortly afterwards.

With the Space Hippie lineup, they’ve set the bar even higher for other manufacturers. The Nike Space Hippie sneakers unlike any other, are made almost entirely of recycled materials.

The Nike Space Hippie 02 ditches the lacing system for black stitching instead. A white and multi-colored be-speckled sole finishes off the design.
The resale price on StockX have fluctuated from mediocre to very profitable. The average current price on StockX is about $200. That’s gross profit of $50 per pair. Had you sold these at peak resale, gross profits would have been as high as $300.

The Nike Space Hippie 03 Vast Grey Hyper Crimson is the most limited out of the 4. That’s thanks to the Flyease lacing technology used which was produced in low quantities.
This sneaker comes in a high-top design with a grey upper while a crimson strap over the upper and on the heel embellish the design. A white crater foam out-sole completes the look.
These are one of the most profitable sneakers out of the pack. The average selling price on StockX is currently $367 which is an average gross profit of $187. Had you sold them at peak resale prices, gross profits would have been as high as $470.

Nike Space Hippie 03 Grey Volt

The Nike Space Hippie 03 Grey Volt is the second colorway ever released of this brand new silhouette. This sneaker is almost identical to the Hyper Crimson colorway with the exception of the Yellow plastic anchor on the mid-foot and the Volt hues.
On StockX, resale prices are slightly lower than its Hyper Crimson counterpart but they’re still quite lucrative. The average selling price is $288 which is a gross profit of over $100. At peak resale prices, gross profits are over $300.

As with other Nike Space Hippie sneakers, this Air Jordan 1 is inspired by life on mars with a focus on environmental sustainability. Which means, the majority of this sneaker is made up of recycled materials.
The Nike Air Jordan 1 High Zoom Space Hippie features a dark grey knit upper constructed with space waste yarn. The yarn is an end result of recycled polyester that uses T-shirts, plastic bottles and, yarn scraps as raw materials.
The sneaker also features crimson stitching on the heel and tongue while black padding covers the ‘Swoosh’ and around the collar. A white mid-sole and a crater foam grey/multi-color be-speckled out-sole finishes off the design.

We’ve seen before how well the ‘Space Hippie’ lineup has done on the primary and resale market. People really like these shoes! I expect the Air Jordan 1 Space Hippie to be no different although resale may not be as high as the 03 sneakers.
To get your money back on StockX, after a standard US tax rate and service fee. You’ll need to sell the Nike Air Jordan 1 High Zoom Space Hippie for at least $210. Thus by using my estimated resell value, expect net profits of around $70.
Selling on eBay is also a good option as fees for sales over $100 are eliminated. Thus profits can be over $100 per pair.
