A Closer Look
Always in, always fresh. The Air Jordan 1 Low “Cactus Flower” Women’s Shoe sets you up with a piece of Jordan history and heritage that’s comfortable all day. Choose the colors for your outfit, then step out in the iconic profile that’s built with a high-end mix of materials and encapsulated Air in the heel.
The color codes for this sneaker are simply white, black, and purple. My one qualm is I wish there was Nike Air on the tongue.
Take a look at the sneakers’ official images and see if they’re for you.
Jordan 1 Low Rise to Glory
The Air Jordan 1 is unquestionably one of the most popular Air Jordan retro models. If you browse Instagram or Twitter timelines you will see no less than a dozen photos or discussions about the sneaker on any given day. While Air Jordan retros of the low cut variety have never been as popular as their higher cut brethren, the Air Jordan 1 is particularly well suited for the cropped look.
The Jordan 1 Low has made itself a strong contender in the sneaker world as we know it today. When OG colorways like the Chicago, Bred, Royal, Shadow, and UNC have skyrocketed in resale value, the next best thing may be chopped in half – insert the Jordan 1 Low. Essentially, you can get the low for probably half the cost (or less) than a high. I think this is an excellent way for budding sneaker heads to get into the game, learn about the history, and still cop something they like that has some importance. Some may pooh-pooh the AJ1 Low based on looks alone but I don’t think you can argue with the logic.
Aside from all the fire OG colorways to be featured on the low, we’ve seen some other hyped original designs on the AJ1 Low too.
Of recent the Dior Jordan 1 also got it’s shine in the low silhouette. Best believe these will be a heavy reseller if you’re willing to shell out the $2,000 retail price tag.
Another iteration that really put the low on the map is Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack. After his Jordan 1 High was dubbed one of, if not, the sneaker of the year, the partnership continued onto the low canvas. These have now climbed into the $800-$900 price range for resale value.
One of my favorites to come out in the past year is the Eric Koston SB Jordan 1 Low. This one has definitely snuck up there in resale value too. Though they’re meant to be skated, if you kept these deadstock you’re looking at a payout in the high $300 to $400 bracket now!
Resale Anticipation
While I just mentioned a handful of successful reselling lows, don’t expect these black cactus flowers to fly off the shelves and turn a profit. Based on the fact that these aren’t hitting any raffles online or having a SNKRS release, my estimate is there will be a lot of pairs released, therefore a more shallow overall demand. You still may be able to make a few bucks from reselling the right size and on the right platform but it may take some time and work.
