Edison Chen’s prior Nike collaboration with the Air Force 1 sold out instantly. As a result, sneaker resellers who were able to acquire CLOT’s limited quantity were able to resell them for almost triple the retail price.

The hyped collaboration between retail giant Nike and Chinese designer Edison Chen’s CLOT is to occur on Saturday, December 7th.

EDISON CHEN NIKE CLOT: THE DESIGN DETAILS
Chen looks to add to the lengthy list of Air Force 1 iterations throughout the years, however, his design contains a distinct difference.
As mentioned prior, the upper is constructed by unique silk material with Chinese-inspired patterns. Also, the tearaway nylon upper comes in a mystifying grey-white colorway on the classic university red outsole.
Chen adheres to a strict attention-to-detail, as even the laces contain symbolism. That is, the laces thread through the eyestays like most sneakers but finish through a Chinese-inspired token.
This token also holds significance, as it spells out “Jordan”, to further Chen’s goal in bridging the east and west.
Finally, the classic black and grey-white colorway include a sleek faded Swoosh color-blocking to complete the distinct look.
2009 NIKE 1WORLD AIR FORCE 1 PROJECT
As we near the end of 2019, the Edison Chen Jordan 1 Mid Fearless will most likely be the last CLOT release of the year.
Why mention this? This is because we close on the 10 year anniversary that the first Nike and CLOT collaboration occurred.

In 2009, the historic Nike 1World Air Force 1 project demanded the gathering of 18 top-tier designers that each earned the opportunity to construct their own Air Force 1 design.
The Air Force 1 makeover by Edison Chen was second to none—as many would argue his design stole the show.
The significance of the sneaker was due to CLOT’s bright red Royale Deluxe Silk pattern with the Chinese textile. The respect and popularity of such a design is evident, as ten years later Edison Chen continues his signature style.
THE FEARLESS COLLECTION
The constant admiration for CLOT’s silk Chinese design can be put to rest, as far as this article, as there is another element to the collaboration—The Fearless Ones.
The holidays are a time for celebration—and that’s exactly what Jordan Brand intends on doing with their “The Fearless Ones” collection.
Jordan Brand celebrates their power and impact through the Air Jordan 1 line, as each pair contains symbolic bright contemporary color schemes.

AIR JORDAN 1 HIGH OG FEARLESS
Apart of the Fearless Ones collection, the Air Jordan 1 High OG Fearless includes the first three Air Jordan 1 patent leather mid colorways.
Thus, paying homage to Michael Jordan’s basketball career.
In fact, the sneaker’s two colorways serve as a dichotomy in MJ’s basketball journey, as the heel collar’s Tarheel blue represents the University of North Carolina colors.
Meanwhile, the toe of the classic silhouette consists of a colorway that symbolizes his professional career with the history-making Chicago Bulls.
The Jordan 1 High Fearless had resale value the minute it stocked, and of course, sold out in minutes. Money sizes, like size 9, are now being bought at almost $100 over the retail price.
AIR JORDAN 1 MID FEARLESS “MELODY EHSANI”
The sole of the sneaker inscribes “If you knew what you had was rare, you would never waste it.” This is an inspirational message that was created in the mind of Los Angelos based designer Melody Ehsani.
Moreover, the sneaker boasts unique creativity by the female empowerment and self-expression enthusiast in the sneaker’s mudguard, as a decorative gold watch that acts as a dubrae is found near the tongue attachment.
Similar to the Jordan 1 High Fearless, the Jordan 1 Mid Fearless Melody Ehsani also had resale value. In fact, they performed better than the Jordan 1 High counterpart by a substantial margin.
Because they were in women sizes, sizes like 10.5W are retailing almost $400 over retail price!

It wouldn’t be bold to suggest that these sneakers will perform well in the resale market, however, the question is how well?
One way to answer such a question is to view similar models’ performance in the past.
The CLOT Nike Fragment was a collaboration of three designer giants in the industry. As you’d expect, the limited Air Force 1 iteration is now valued at almost $1,000 via Stockx.
The CLOT Air Force 1 Low Blue Silk contains the same Chinese design, and the same limited quantity.
Thus, the name brand and minimal stock combination led to the high resale value of $500 on selected money sizes.
As for the Edison Chen Jordan 1 Mid Fearless line, the resale value should also boast high prices due to its limited stock and exclusiveness. In addition, being apart of Jordan Brand should bolster a resale value between $500 to $700.
