Today the sneaker we will be taking a look at is the Nike Air Jordan 1 P(HER)SPECTIVE!
**Please skip to the conclusion for the need-to-know about the release**
Releasing on June 19th with a retail of $170, this shoe only adds to 2020 being the year of the Air Jordan 1.
The upper of the sneaker combines hues of blue, green, and grey. Additionally, the green is seen on the Wings logo and “Nike Air” branding on the tongue.
These colors contrast the suede rust pink mid-paneling and toe-box. Additionally, the sneaker features a metallic silver Swoosh and icy midsoles.
If you’re into different tones and patterns, this sneaker looks to then be a must-cop.
In order to learn more about the Jordan 1 P(HER)SPECTIVE, we’ll be taking a look at some similar models that have released in the past.
The first shoe we’ll be taking a look at is the Jordan 1 High SoH Barely Grape.
Part of the Season of Her collection, this version of the Air Jordan 1 manages to combine luxury satin fabrics, premium suede accents, and unique color schemes to create a powerful look.
This shoe is more of a designer shoe as the colorway is very low-key and can easily be matched.
This sneaker retailed for $160 and released on January 25th, 2018. Since then there have only been 56 sales with an average sale price of $156.
In terms of resale, this wasn’t a very profitable shoe, but still a really wearable shoe for all women.
The second comparable sneaker we’ll be looking at is the Women’s Air Jordan 1 Court Lux Aleali May.
This crazy, mismatched sneaker brings out the creativity that can be presented in footwear.
The Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 WMNS Court Lux High Top OG is made with premium suede and blocked in colors that take inspiration from Maya Moore’s (American WNBA player) favorite uniforms throughout her career.
The colors include Bordeaux, Sunset Tint, Rush Red, and Light Armory Blue. Finishing touches include a removable faux fur tongue on the to represent Maya’s influence on high fashion.
Down below the shoe bears an off-white rubber midsole/outsole.
The sneaker, that released on December 22nd, 2018, retailed for $160.
Since then we have seen over 1,000 StockX sales with an average sale price of $209, leaving a 50.2% price premium above the original retail price.
The third and final sneaker we will be taking a look at today is the Jordan 1 Mid Dirty Powder Iridescent.
You’ll notice that this sneaker although still a Jordan 1, is a Jordan 1 mid, meaning the upper does not go up the ankle as much.
The reason I chose this shoe to take a look at is due to the similarity of the colorways in both the Jordan 1 Mid Dirty Powder and the Jordan 1 High P(HER)SPECTIVE.
The pink/beige “Dirty Powder” upper arrives in suede, which covers the majority of the pair’s panels from the throat to the toe cap, with the color also migrating down the midsole’s paintwork.
Stark black contrast hits arrive by-way-of the heavy-duty toe cap and Swoosh overly, nylon tongues, laces, liners, and outsoles, with the pair’s champion, the collar and heel overlays, popping a metallic silver-rainbow iridescent effect.
Completing the design is a bold black Wings motif on the lateral, and Dirty Powder branding hits on the tongue and insole Jumpman.
Both shoes bear a dusty-rose color with noticeable metallic accents. The Jordan 1 High P(HER)SPECTIVE incorporates more blues and greens, but the overall colors are in the same ballpark.
The Jordan 1 Mid Dirty Powder retailed for $115 and has proved to be a great resell. With over 1,500 sales, the shoe is bringing in an average 45.2% resell premium and an average sale price of $144.
When coming to this conclusion I had to account for everything, season, colors, & style. With summer starting, most people would think that Jordan 1 high’s wouldn’t be the greatest shoe to wear. I would tend to agree.
However, I think the lightness in colors of the shoe brings out what can only be described as a “summery vibe.”
We’ve seen Jordans styled well, on women, with shorts and I see no problem with this pair. Not only is the Jordan 1 dropping, but also the Air Force 1 P(HER)SPECTIVE will be dropping on the same day.
The fact these are both parts of a set increases the value. It is a weird phenomenon in the sneaker world, but the fact there are similar shoes out there tend to bring more hype.
All in all, this is a great shoe and June 19th will be a great day for all of our women sneakerheads! I cannot wait to see these being rocked!
