The name of the sneakers is Jordan 2 Rivals. Now if you’re an avid basketball fan like me then you will understand exactly why the Jumpman brand went along with this name.
The vibrant color palette on the show represents some of the greatest teams Michael Jordan faced against in his illustrious career. These include the Celtics, New York Knicks, and The Los Angeles Lakers.
Every color on the sneaker features something close to Jordan’s career. For example, him defeating the Lakers in the 1991 NBA finals with an average of 30 points per the 5 games.
Now, these vibrant colors aren’t the only thing that makes these sneakers so special. If you look closely, you’ll get to see the multi-textured finish that’s got everyone hyped about this drop.
From patent leather to quilted panels, you’ll definitely be turning heads as you walk across in the Jordan 2 Rivals. If you notice the sole, it is more chunky than usual. And there’s a good reason for that. It provides you with additional padding, so that every time you jump, you land comfortably. Of course, the Jordan brand does not want you to suffer any broken ligaments now.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, this shoe is for dropping (currently) exclusively for Women. It’s a bit of a strange move to cater to only single-sex but I guess its part of a larger marketing scheme. There have been reports which suggest the sneaker will be released, later on, for Men which I think is necessary if the sneaker is to retail well.
Now I know most of you just simply breeze past this part of the report and simply skip ahead to what the retail value will be, but hey, some of us actually like to know what the shoe is like and what the inspiration behind it was. So, keep reading to know the working behind the scenes.
History Lesson:
The first-ever Air Jordan 2 was released way back in 1987. This was the second signature look for the Jumpman brand. The sneakers were designed by Bruce Kilgore and since they were made in Italy, they had a certain premium feel to them. They were released in two colorways in a high and a low variant.
Unfortunately for Jordan, the original mold of the Air Jordan 2 was either lost or broken somewhere between 1994 and 2001. Everyone thought that the pair would never be able to retro again. However, the Jordan brand was successfully able to recover one of the original molds and the sneakers would retro in 2004. And the rest is history.
Where To Buy:

Resale Value:
Now over the past drops, Air Jordan 2 have considerably resold for much higher prices than they were released for. That’s all thanks to the brilliant cult following of the brand and of course to brand ambassador, Mr. Michael Jordan himself.
Whilst we don’t claim to be experts or anything, we will offer you a holistic explanation as to what these shoes can be resold for. To do that we need to look at the previous drops of Air Jordan 2.
Now over the past 10 drops of the Air Jordan 2 Retros, we filtered out those whose retail price was close to the Jordan 2 Rivals and looked at their retail price. After averaging their prices, we landed at $316. Taking inflation into account, we can safely say that the Jordan 2 rivals can easily be resold for a price between $350-400.
But in my opinion, if this is going to be a Women only drop, then I do not think that the resale value will amount to much as the target market of the Jordan brand is particularly men. Therefore, I’d be cautious with this drop.
Conclusion:
So that’s all I have for today folks. Now I know it must be frustrating to always be on the lookout for the latest drops and to wait for me to tell you how much they can be resold for. What if I told you, you did not have to wait?
If you use our Hypemaster Playbook, you’ll be way ahead of the curve in recognizing patterns and getting the most profitable drops.
Till next time.
