These sneakers pay tribute to Michael Jordan’s coach while he was with the Chicago Bulls, Phil Jackson. Phil Jackson was nicknamed “Zen master” as he incorporated spirituality and meditation in a lot of his training sessions.
As a nod to that, the uppers on this Air Jordan 4 feature a tie-dye pattern that’s reminiscent of images of the galaxies and nebulas. Transparent triangular pieces and eyelet panels blend right in while black laces, mesh netting, and sock liners provide contrast.
