Air Jordan 4 has an interesting bit of history behind it. The great Tinker Hatfield was once again behind this silhouette after creating the highly revered Air Jordan 3.
This time, Hatfield wanted a more performance-focused sneaker than a lifestyle one more-so than its predecessors. He would achieve this by tweaking the design and creating a significantly different shape.
The AJ4 has an interesting design process where they dipped the sneaker in soft plastic and blew air through it so that it didn’t look cheap as the air would clean out any residue plastic in between. It also featured an over-molded mesh.
The design quickly caught on with the public and Michael Jordan’s 4th signature sneaker was quickly a huge hit.
In 2020 alone, we saw huge collaborations between Nike and other companies such as the highly sought after Off-White Air Jordan 4 Sail. There were also other super-limited AJ4s such as the Jordan 4 “Manila” which made sneaker news headlines everywhere.
Exciting releases such as those and even retro ones like the AJ4 Fire Red have maintained a constant hype surrounding this silhouette.
With the release of the Air Jordan 4 Starfish on the horizon, Nike has already scheduled the next colorway for this silhouette for January 28th.

This Jordan sneaker dons an earthy colored upper that at first glance is reminiscent of Travis Scott’s very own AJ4 colorway.
The “Taupe Haze” features a suede dark brown upper with netted panels on the lateral sides and the bottom throats. Black laces, wing flaps, and liners add to the subtlety while Infrared hits on the tongues, footbeds, and outsole provide contrast.
The toe overlay feature cracked brown leather which isn’t the only interesting surprise about the upper. This Jodan 4 features wear-away materials which gradually change colors over time. A black/Sail midsole and white/black outsole with an infrared Jump-Man completes the look.

This Air Jordan 1 looks very similar to Travis Scott’s own colorway which is why I believe a lot of people may be eyeing these. The Taupe Haze Jordan 4 will likely sell out and be profitable.
Using my estimated resell value, you can expect profits of around $80 per pair. I also wouldn’t sleep on the GS sizes as they’re also expected to be profitable. Overall according to our new Hype Meter, I give this one a “Profit”!
