Before we dive in and take a detailed look at the “Martian Sunrise” AM1, let me walk you through the History of this iconic sneaker.

Air Max 1| Revolutionary

Created in 1987 by Tinker Hatfield, The Air Max 1 was a pioneer of the Air Unit that created a legacy of new sneakers that were ahead of their times. Although Air technology was used in Nike sneakers since 1979, Hatfield took it to the next level.

Tinker Hatfield was originally a corporate architect for Nike. When he shifted to designing sneakers, Hatfield thought of the Pompidou Center in Paris which was the main inspiration behind the Air Max 1.

It also later inspired the Air Max 90 which was just as much of a success and introduced Nike into other regions. For example, the first widely recognized sneaker in Russia was the Air Max 90. In order to celebrate its history within Russia, Nike has also recently released the Air Max 90 Moscow

With various new colorways popping up almost every month now, Nike is set to release yet another Air Max 1 this January. To estimate the resale value of the Nike Air Max 1 Martian Sunrise, let’s head over to StockX.

The Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary Orange and Green released in celebration of the Air Max 1’s anniversary.

These sneakers feature a synthetic suede and leather upper, the majority of which is divided with grey and white color tones. Vibrant orange is featured on the ‘Swoosh’, mudguards, and tongue/heel tab branding. A white midsole and black/white outsole complete the look.

Its average selling price on StockX is currently around $205 which is a gross profit of $65. I believe the Nike Air Max 1 Magma Orange will have a similar but slightly lower resale value.

Colorway: WHITE/MARTIAN SUNRISE-WOLF GREY-BLACK

Nike expands on its Air Max 1 catalog with an orange-hued Air Max that’s seemingly a mix between the Anniversary Orange and the Nike Air Max 1 Mystic Dates.

These sneakers feature white and Wolf-Grey leather uppers with “Martian Sunrise” overlays. These overlays appear on the cropped ‘Swooshes’, mudguards, and at the tip of the outsoles. Orange branding also appears on the tongues and heel tabs.

A white midsole with an exposed Air Unit and a black/white outsole finish off the design.

Estimated Resell Value

The Nike Air Max 1 has been doing well on the primary markets and I believe that these will sell out. Using my estimated resell value of $190, expect gross profits of around $40 per pair.

Gross profits may be higher if you can sell them before the release date as currently, they’re selling for over $210.
