The Nike Air Vapormax Summit White continues Nike’s legacy of manufacturing eco-friendly sneakers. They’ve come a long way since vowing to go green and the Nike Air Vapormax started an entire new era of sneakers.
Before we go into the details, let’s look back on some history including Nike̵7;s sustainability approach.
Skip to conclusion for those in a hurry
Nike| Steps For Environmental Sustainability
Nike has been adamant to reduce its carbon foot print on the planet for a while now. They’ve taken various steps to reduce waste after the media started scrutinizing sneaker manufacturers.
BBC reported that sneaker washing ashore on tropical beaches is now a common sight. The problem is, most of the sneakers are made out of plastic which isn’t biodegradable.
In 2019, 20 Billion shoes have been sold and perhaps even more manufactured. Unfortunately, most of them are not disposed off responsibly and end up polluting the environment.
A plastic Air Unit is used in Nike sneakers and similar technology is becoming an actual problem. Ever since manufacturers realized that plastic was superior to most other materials when it comes to performance, it changed how sneakers were made forever.
Nike has however, taken steps to counter this problem and so far, it has worked out quite well.
Nike Air Vapormax| Technology
The Nike Air VaporMax debuted in 2017 and was fairly popular because of how “futuristic” it looked. This sneaker proved how Nike was also breaking through boundaries with their innovation as it featured a full length air unit as a stand-alone out sole.
More importantly however, it has other qualities that are being given more weight in today’s world. The Nike Air Vapormax is seen as a progressive environmentally friendly sneaker.
Nike has been leading the charge of pushing eco-friendly sneakers thus far. They use the most recycled polyester out of any other sports-wear company and the vapormax in particular uses 50% recycled material in weight for each shoe.
The new Air unit in the vapor max has a few other benefits for functionality as well. It’s more lightweight because of shedding the weight of a foam layer, additional Air allowed within the Air Unit and maintaining the foam’s form independently without the need to be shaped.
The resale for these sneakers have been quite volatile and depends on the colorways. To estimate the resale value of the Nike Air VaporMax Summit White 2020, let’s head over to StockX.
Nike Air VaporMax 2020 Flyknit Smoke Grey
Retail Price: $220
Peak Resell: $350
Release Date: July/30/2020
Colorway: Grey/Bright Crimson-University Red-White
This sneaker features a grey and multi colored Flyknit upper made up of recycled materials. It features a white ‘Swoosh’ and a full length recycled air unit to complete the design. I have to say, they look pretty dope.
A lot of people seem to agree with me as the resale prices on StockX are currently quite high. The Nike Air Vapormax Smoke Grey is selling for an average price of $347. That’s almost double the return in gross profits.
Had you sold these at peak resale price, potential profits would’ve been as high as $130 per pair.

Nike Vapormax 2020 Pure Platinum Multicolor
Retail Price: $220
Peak resell: $550
Release Date: July/23/2020
Colorway: Pure Platinum/Black-Multi Color
This sneaker comes in a platinum and multi-colored upper with a speckled black ‘Swoosh’. It also has an aqua/multi colored heel and a fully recycled air unit as the out-sole. As with other colorways, they include the usual flyease lacing system.
On StockX, these aren’t super profitable because of the high price tag. Some money however, is possible with an average re-selling price of $247 on StockX. Had you sold them at peak resale, profit would have been as high as $330.

Nike Air VaporMax 2020 Flyknit Deep Royal Blue Multi-Color
Retail Price: $250
Peak Resell: $350
Release Date: August/06/2020
Colorway: Deep Royal Blue/Multi-Color-White
This is also one of Nike’s latest Air Vapormax sneakers which is yet to release. These sneakers feature a royal blue Flyknit upper, a white ‘Swoosh’ and a transparent Vapormax mid-sole.
Profit margins on these sneakers seem to be mediocre due to the high retail price tag but there is money to be made here.
On StockX, the resale prices average out at around $280 which is just lunch money after service fees and tax. At peak resale, potential gross profit is as high as $100.
I expect the Nike Air Vapormax Summit White to resell a bit higher as it’s a better looking colorway in my opinion.
Nike Air Vapormax Summit White 2020
Retail Price: $250
Estimated Resell: $290
Release Date: August/6th/2020
Colorway: White/Summit-White
This time, Nike offers a more subtly colored VaporMax with a grey Flyknit upper and a white ‘Swoosh’. A matching white “Lock” strap on the heel and a grey Flyease lacing system add a touch of novelty that the VaporMax is known for.
At the bottom, we find a translucent full length TPU made of at least 70% recycled materials. A marbleized aqua blue heel piece finishes off the design.
The Nike Air VaporMax Summit White is made up of 50% recycled materials just like the other colorways. The materials used range from plastic bottles, yarn and even T-shirts among other things.

Estimated Resell
The Nike Vapormax seems to be doing well regarding sales and popularity. The Nike Air VaporMax Plus and 3 are among the popular silhouettes and it appears that the new Flyknit 2020 silhouettes are on the rise even more so.
I wouldn’t expect high resale just yet but it they might be worth more in the future. As sneakers like these become more common, resale should rise as well.
To get your money back, you’ll need to sell the Nike Air VaporMax Summit White for at least $290. Thus leaving not much room for profits. On the other hand, selling on websites such as eBay could earn you profits up to $40 or more.
Where to Buy
