Kiko Kostadinov and Asics are back once for more two brand new Gel-Kayano 14 sneakers! The Asics UB1-S Gel-Kayano 14 Pure Gold and Classic Red Release Date is on December 22 for a price of $140 and $150 respectively. The Pure Gold colorway comes in women’s sizes while the latter comes in men’s sizes. Keep reading for more details!

Asics x Koko Kostadinov

Bulgarian designer, Kiko Kostadinov, first collaborated with Asics on a few new sneakers that he revealed during his Spring 18 men’s fashion show.

Although the presentation was odd. All eyes were on the shoes which took away some of the awe that came with the models wearing nude tights over their faces. Apart from being an over-all good colorway, the sneakers were part of the first-ever designer lead collaboration in the Japanese sportswear giant’s history.

Over the past couple of years, the duo has released over 10 sneakers together and has signed a multi-year partnership contract that will see multiple sneakers yearly at varying price points. We’ve already seen 2 new colorways that have released this month, now we’re getting to see two more.

Their latest sneakers, the Asics UB1-S Gel-Kayano 14 Pure Gold and Classic Red are also expected to sell for similar prices on reseller markets. To estimate their resale values, we can use StockX to help us out.

Asics Gel-Kayano 14 UB1 S Grey

The Asics Gel-Kayano 14 UB1-S Piedmont Grey features a high-quality faux leather overlay and mesh construction to go with it. Silver Asics branding covers the lateral sides while a long heel pull is actually located on the tongue.

A black/grey midsole and black outsole complete the look. The market for these shoes is pretty unsubstantial without only a few sales in total on StockX. They have, however,  been sold for as high as $240 which is pretty decent.

Asics has been showing some love to the Gel-Kayano UB1-S 14 recently with multiple new sneakers planned for the future. Their latest two take on subtler base colors with vibrant or glossy highlights in between.

The upper consists of a mesh construction which forms a base for the synthetic leather overlay. Crisp white laces clean up the look while futuristic patterns along the upper of both sneakers add multiple layers of detailing including a hexagonal pattern.

The tongue and heel of each sneaker either features a glossy “Pure Gold” or vibrant “Classic Red”. The midsole features GEL cushioning while an outsole with pure gold/classic red hits completes the look.

Resale Value

I believe these sneakers may just sell out but I also don’t have any high hopes for good profits. You can expect minor lunch money but that’s about it I’d say.

Using my estimated resell value of $160-$200, expect profits anywhere from $10 to up to $50 per pair.
