Bape x New Balance 2002R – Release and Resale Guide
Hello and welcome to Six Figure Sneakerhead! Let’s talk about sneakers. Japanese powerhouse Bape is using the New Balance 2002R for a canvas on two colorways. To be abundantly clear, we̵7;re going over the China release that’s slated for June 5th. Stateside release will follow and be updated here. The shoes are expected to release in Bape and New Balance storefronts for the time being at a price to be announced.

A New Partnership
After closely following months of teasers with no word on a release, I’m personally thrilled to announce all the details and give a closer look at the sneakers.
The Japanese streetwear staple has given the late 2000s running shoe their signature ABC camo treatment in BAPE’s classic green, as well as New Balance’s classic grey. Both sneakers feature the camouflage pattern across the base of the shoe, with BAPE’s signature shark teeth motif at the heel.
New Balance first debuted the 2002R in 2010. The goal was to create a premium running sneaker, but with that came a $250 price tag. Last year, the silhouette was relaunched and put at much more reasonable price point along with a reworked midsole, originally paired with the 860v2.

Conclusion and Resale Anticipation
Bape has always had a stronghold on the camo sneaker game. This newest project is no exception. New Balance has also been killing it the past couple years and continue to gain marketshare. With their timeless silhouettes and comfortable cushioning tech, the partnership with Bape is a no brainer to get in front of the more streetwear heavy sneaker heads.
I’d expect the classic green camo pair to have a higher resale value but you can’t go wrong with either colorway on feet. If you’re a more tonal, pared-down person, the grey an excellent pick for you.
