Before we get into the details of the New balance 327 Wax Blue. Let’s get into a bit of background on this iconic company.
Skip to conclusion for those in a hurry.
New Balance-A Brief History
If you’re new to the sneaker world you may recognize the New Balance sneakers as the classic “Dad shoe”. Probably because they’re the most comfortable sneakers ever and every older gentleman is wearing one.
That however, doesn’t do the brand justice. Not only are New Balance sneakers iconic but they are on the rise. Especially on the resale market, some sneakers are killing it right now.
The brand dates back to 1906, founded by William J. Riley who made orthopedic products. He made products for people with jobs that required them to stand for long intervals of time.
That business in general set the company up to inevitably shift to performance wear by the 1950s. Later on the business was handed over to Paul Rudd that elevated the business to new heights.
New Balance was so revered that pro athletes would ask for specially tailored sneakers. Recognizing the demand, they introduced the “Trackster” in 1961 which became an instant classic.
After winning the Runner’s World Magazine Award, New Balance had established firm roots within the international sneaker market. Today they produce numerous models and create various performance wear for many sports.
New Balance 327-A classic silhouette re-imagined
The first new balance to carry the iconic “N” logo was the New Balance 320 in 1976. The silhouette was a huge success as it won various awards at the NYC marathon. Garnering a respectable following of elite athletes.
In 1977, they introduced the New Balance 355. This sneaker had superior traction due to its rugged out-sole. This again, was a respectable sneaker which offered much to athletes at the time.
They introduced the CompSeries in the same year including the SuperComp. The SuperComp was a fusion of the 320 and 355, sporting a versatile upper and wrapped forefoot. The combination was a thing of beauty.
This year, New Balance introduces the 327 which is inspired by the same 70s design. It combines all the best features of the 355, 320 and the SuperComp, creating the ultimate New Balance sneaker.
Let’s look at a few models to estimate the resell value of the New Balance 327 Wax Blue.
New Balance 327 Orange
Retail Price: $100
Peak Resell: $300
Release Date: 05/10/2020
Colorway: Orange/White
This sneaker released back in April on the Paris Fashion week and quickly sold out. They produced these in collaboration with Casablanca and it seems to have worked out. They sold well and the resale is pretty lucrative.
The sneaker features an over-sized “N” logo, same as on the New Balance 320. The studded out-sole is inspired by the 355 trail runner, as is the toe wrap. The upper is made up of nylon and sued, giving it a slightly unique look to the older versions.
This is basically the perfect mixture of retro running performance and a more modern look.
According to StockX, the trade range is between $108-$200. It has an average price of $209 which is an average profit per pair of $109 before tax and service fee.
Had you sold these at peak resale, profit would have been $200 before tax and service fees. That’s pretty good resale, but let’s move on.
New Balance 327 Blue Orange
Retail Price: $100
Peak Resell: $300
Release Date: 05/08/2020
Colorway: Blue/Orange
Along with the orange came 2 more colorways including these fresh looking kicks. They’re essentially identical except for the blue upper and yellow mid-sole.
According to StockX, trade range is between $123-$156 with the average price being $165. That’s an average profit of $65 per pair before tax and service fees.
At peak resale, profit would have been $200 as well. Pretty similar resale to its orange counterpart. Now, let’s assess how the New Balance 327 does in women’s sizing.
New Balance 327 Black (W)

These come in a black upper, white laces and an over-sized “N” logo. It also features a white mid-sole and a grey studded out-sole to finish off the design.
On StockX, the trade range is between $107-$173 with the average price being $144. That’s an average profit of $44 before service fees and tax.
At peak resell value, profits are as high as $209. That’s decent resale as well especially if you cop enough pairs.
New Balance 327 Wax Blue

Estimated Resell: $160
Release Date: 06/06/2020
New balance is out here taking the world by storm and really just seems to be on the rise.
The New Balance 327 Wax Blue releases for $100 in women’s sizing. This model takes on a classic New Balance colorway and shape. They also seem to be tilting more towards a lifestyle versions than performance.
The color tones over all are a lot cooler than its blue and orange counterparts. The New Balance 327 Wax Blue sports navy overlays and stunning white accents all over.
The sneaker also features white laces and a white tongue, contrasted by red New Balance branding. A white mid-sole and studded white out-sole finishes off the design.
Take a closer look for yourself.
Resale Value
June may have started off as fire for sneaker-heads. However, sneaker re-sellers may not think so as the soon to drop sneakers don’t seem very profitable. Only at the start of the month at least.
These on the other hand, do look promising and I suggest going for a pair. To earn your money back on StockX, you will need to sell for around $120 after applying a standard US tax rate and service fee.
With my estimated resell prediction of $160, you’re looking at an average profit of $40 per pair. That’s pretty neat if you can cop multiple pairs.
The larger sizes also seem to do better in women’s sizing. I believe sizes 10.5 and up would be most profitable.
