Dating back to 1906 when New Balance was founded by William J. Riley, they first sold orthopedic products but transitioned to performance wear by the 1950s.

Stray Rats is a fairly new company started by Julian Consuegra in 2010. Living in Miami and a fan of hardcore rock, he came up with the name quite naturally.
Since rock lyrics included a lot of rats and him and his buddies were always moving underground. The name seemed to fit and so they ran with it!
The brand is highly appreciated for being “real” and unique as Julian implements his own style and tastes into whatever he creates. Stray Rats is over 20 years old today.
New Balance and Stray Rats have collaborated a few times before and each time, their sneakers were highly sought after. They’ve even included DC (Detective Comics) into the mix for one of their collaborations!

This variant released back in 2018 with a re-release in a slightly different color tone. It comes with a Green-Purple upper with black laces and a grey rear collar.
The Typical “N” logo on lateral sides as well as a “990” embroidery above the heel. These sneakers don a grey mid-sole that’s speckled while a black rugged out-sole finishes off the design.
On StockX, the average selling price per pair has dropped over time from an average of $380 to $290 per pair. Although, it’s still a pretty decent profit of around $100.
After the release of the “Joker” variant, however, their values have dropped. Had you sold these at their peak resale prices, the profit would have been $460 before taxes and service fees. The Stray Rats New Balance 574 may likely have a lower resale value.

This sneaker was a collaboration done with very similar color combinations used as the previous one. This version, however, uses lighter tones which are more identifiable.
The upper consists of a seemingly multi-material construction including mesh and suede. Green suede side panels cover the sides of the sneaker with a grey “N” logo in between. Purple laces and purple suede hits can also be spotted along the upper while a black, grey, and white sole completes the look.
On StockX, the average selling price is also $240 after gradually declining over time. If you had sold them at peak resale prices, gross profits may have been as high as $300.

The Stray Rats x New Balance 827 is dominated by a brown colored base with hints of green around the sneaker. It also comes with blazing red laces and a purple “N” logo.
There is also a Stray Rats branding on the camouflaged heel. Finally, an olive-colored Abzorb mid-sole finishes off the design.
The average selling price on StockX is a respectable $240 which is a gross profit of almost $90 per pair. At peak resale prices, gross profits would have been as high as $440 per pair. The Stray Rats New Balance 574 will probably have a similar resale value.

Similar to the older Stray Rats New Balance 827 and 990 V3, both these new colorways don vibrant uppers that aren’t afraid to be loud and unique.
The first sneaker comes in a Suede light green color tone mixed with quite a few other shades of green including a lighter lime. Dark green laces sit atop a rich green throat that makes it’s way up to a green tongue with New Balance and Stray Rats branding. Similarly, styled branding appears on the light green insoles.
Its red sibling comes in red suede uppers with green and pink hits all over. Green “N” logos on the sides provide contrast while pink toe boxes and throats make their way towards a pink tongue with New Balance and Stray Rats branding which also appear on the red insoles in a similar fashion.
Both sneakers are constructed with a mix of suede, nylon, and synthetic leather. A purple and red ENCAP mold is placed at the rear of the midsoles while black outsoles on each sneaker complete the look.
