The “Roswell Rayguns” is a fictional ABA team created by Nike for their basketball sneaker campaign in the 2000s. The story is about a struggling team in 1975 until their mid-season when some beings from another planet come to visit. A character named “Dr.Funk” walks out with a team of All-Stars and they go on to dominate the sport.

The Nike Air Raid “Raygun” features a multi-textured upper and its signature criss-cross straps that fit well to the fictional ABA team’s glorified color palette. The sneaker features a host of colorways on its upper ranging from Black, White, and Bright Orange on the toe box and mesh quarter panels. Blaze orange straps criss-cross across the black mesh tongue and Velcro straps on each side of the color.
We can see a green Rayguns basketball logo placed perfectly on the tongue and three colorful stars that run down the heel tab. To finish off the design, the heel features a “For Outdoor Use Only” accent and the insoles supply a varsity-style “Rayguns” motif.
