The Chinese New Year or “Lunar New Year” is a huge celebration that occurs within Chinese communities everywhere. This occasion brings families and friends together as they enjoy food, festivals, and parties.
It starts with the new moon which according to western Calenders, starts around January 21st and ends at around February 20th. The Chinese New Year is perhaps the most important celebration in Chinese culture and Nike often celebrates with them.
Every year for a few years now, Nike releases various sneakers including Jordan shoes which are inspired by Chinese culture. With vibrant red color tones and intricate embroidery, CNY sneakers are usually very popular.
With Nike’s Chinese New Year collections comes a sneaker that’s embedded in history as one of the most memorable. 2014’s Nike Dunk High wasn’t too popular but recently CNY sneakers have been killing it on the secondary markets.

This Nike SB Dunk High released during the Chinese New Year celebrations of 2014 and featured bright red color tones. A multi-material upper is only contrasted by a darker red overlay while a red ‘Swoosh’ with metallic gold outlining embellishes the upper.
A red midsole and golden speckled outsole complete the look.
The average selling price on StockX is around $240 which isn’t very high considering the fact that this is an SB Dunk. I believe the Nike Dunk Low CNY Firecracker will have a higher resale value.

This Nike Dunk Low deviates from other CNY-themed sneakers, taking on a plethora of interesting cartoon-like images that take a nod at firecracker wrapping papers.
The Firecracker Dunk Low features a blue-toned upper with darker blue leather overlays which features images ranging from warning signs to various explosions. The underlays, on the other hand, feature a lighter aqua colorway with dotted patterns all over.
White laces give way to an aqua throat which leads up to a matching tongue with Firecracker warning signs on one and Nike’s headquarter address on the other. A white midsole and red outsole complete the look.
Estimated Resale Value
I believe these will definitely sell out and also be decently profitable. If you’re a reseller these should definitely be on your must-cop list as well along with the Air Jordan 1 CNY 2021.
Using my estimated resell value of $350, expect gross profits of around $240 and similar profits close to after the release date. The bids on StockX are at over $600 but that’s likely going to fall as we approach the release date. I also recommend flipping them as soon as they release.
