The Nike SB Dunk, unlike its regular Dunk counterpart, is a sight for sore eyes owing to its sheer scarcity but this Holiday Season, the Swoosh is set to release a collaboration with Minneapolis brand ‘Familia’. The Familia Nike SB Dunk Low First Avenue release date is on December 11th for $100.

Check out everything else that’s dropping this December as well!

Before we take a closer look at the Familia Nike SB Dunk Low First Avenue, let me walk you through a bit of background information.

Familia x Nike SB

Familia Skateboard store via TransWorld

Steve Nesser, the professional Skateboarder, founded Familia Skates. Although this was a skateboarding boutique with their stores lined with skateboards, the main foundation of their brand is hyped apparel and clothing.

Particularly sneakers, which they stock up from brands like Adidas, Nike, New Balance, and many more.

This upcoming particular collaboration is also inspired by, one of the oldest nightclubs in Minneapolis known as ‘First Avenue’ which has been a solid part of the region’s night crawlers’ lives since 1970.

The Familia Nike SB Dunk Low First Avenue went through many delays before arriving at this (hopefully) final release date as because of the pandemic, there were various supply chain issues.

Hopefully, it’s time to get excited as it appears that the sneaker finally releases this December. To help estimate its resale value, let’s head on over to StockX.

This collaboration celebrated Familia’s 10th anniversary with a sneaker featuring a blue and white color scheme.

The uppers feature a finger-print-like texture while heel overlays opt for a fuzzy blue suede. White mesh-like throats blend right in while side panels feature vibrant yellow leather Swooshes.

Blue midsoles and green outsoles complete the look.

On the secondary market, these kicks are reselling for average prices of around $400 per pair. They weren’t always this profitable but recently its resale value has skyrocketed.

In celebration of Minneapolis’ oldest music venues, this sneaker embodies its feature with clear nods at the nightclub.

The sneaker features nod at where the club is situated at 701 First Avenue North while the quarter overlays don black brickwork, hinting at the club’s bricked exterior.

Toe boxes, on the other hand, feature star-shaped perforations that nod at the past performers who lit up the venue.

The upper is also fade-away and fades into a deep purple to commemorate one of its past performers, Prince, who was a Minneapolis native.

3M reflective Swooshes, co-branded insoles with checkerboard prints hinting at the venue’s floor, and black outsoles complete the look.

Other details include the date featured onto an image of their very first ticket in 1970 on the insoles.
