The Nike ISPA Road Warrior Sail, as previously called, is just one among the many releases along with the ISPA collection. They’ve received moderate reviews and some releases have been described as “Gimmicky”. This addition however, seems to be worth the hype.
Before we estimate its resell value, let’s get into a bit of back ground. What exactly is this ISPA collection?
Skip to conclusion for summarized info in one place.
Nike| ISPA Collection
The first question most of you will ask is what is exactly does ISPA mean? Well it’s an acronym that stands for Improvise, Scavenge, Protect and Adapt.
The improvise part comes from their initiative to design with whatever products are at their disposal. This ultimately creates something totally unique.
Scavenge relates to how they look for parts and materials among left over materials from other Nike shoes. This gives it a look reminiscent of the Nike Trash Collection.
Protect, as in protecting against a certain problem.
Lastly, what they mean by adapt is how versatile the lineup is. It’s not made for one occasion or one sport in general but can be used for a multitude of actions. “to adapt all solutions to fit their broadest potential”.
This entire line was created in 2018 for one purpose. Or rather, a multitude of purposes as it’s made to be worn by city dwellers for every-day use. Even the branding is an amalgamation of different Nike divisions.
If you want pure performance sneakers or clothes for a particular sport. Look elsewhere as these are designed to be versatile and pretty much an all-rounder.
Nike| Behind the Design
The designers at Nike are true innovators that are always drawing up the next best thing. The whole ISPA lineup was made to be designed with whatever was at their disposal with environmental sustainability in mind.
Their first release was a Nike ISPA React Mid which had a water proof upper and the sole of a Nike React Element 98. Later on, they released a low top variant which had an interesting inspiration behind it.
The designer, Erick Ikeda, said he was inspired by the historic events of the Apollo 13 mission. When duct tape had to be used to prevent the CO2 canisters from leaking. That improvisation and adaptability is what inspired the design for Nike ISPA sneakers.
Furthermore, the laces are more on the sides for an improved fit, tape like bandages and an irregular “Swoosh” make this design unique and add to the “reconstructed” vibe.
As I mentioned, previous sneakers didn’t do crazy good. However, the Nike ISPA Road Warrior Volt seems to be a class above.
To estimate its resale value, let’s assess a few similar examples. Usually, that gives us a good ball park figure of what to expect.
Nike React Runner Mid White Light Crimson
Retail Price: $180
Peak Resell: $200
Release Date: 11/21/2018
Colorway: Summit White/Off White-Light Crimson
This sneaker features a unique white upper with orange hits on the heel and “Swoosh”. The mid-sole is what is most noticeable as it comes in a light crimson color with an alien design.
The resale however, is quite unprofitable. The average selling price is around $100. Even at peak resale, there isn’t much profit left after deducting tax and service fee.
This however may not be the best comparison as it is neither as hyped nor limited as the Nike ISPA Road Warrior Volt.
Nike Space Hippie 03 Hyper Crimson Volt Grey
Retail Price: $180
Peak Resell: $650
Release Date: 07/03/2020
Colorway: Vast Grey/Hyper Crimson
This sneaker released along with the “Space Hippie” collection that included around 5 sneakers. This sneaker is the most limited of the collection due to its Flyease technology.
The sneaker itself is basically a high-top version of the 01. With the exception of the pull tab and the heel release. The special part about this sneaker is how it’s made up of recycled materials.
It’s also designed in a way to resemble being built out of space debris and spare parts. Much like the Nike ISPA Road Warrior Volt is made to look like it’s a reconstruction.
The resale has been very lucrative. On StockX, the average price is around $360. That’s an average gross profit of around $180. The average price has also been steadily increasing. At peak resale, re-sellers have made over $450 in profits.

Nike Space Hippie Vast Grey Hyper Crimson 01
Retail Price: $130
Peak Resell: $750
Release Date: 07/03/2020

This sneaker came along with the space hippie collection as a low-top variant of the 03. A Grey upper with a dotted irregular “Swoosh” and a speckled white mid-sole finishes off the design.
These are also pretty profitable with an average price of $268. That’s an average gross profit of $138 and a peak gross profit of $620.
These sneakers indicate that a pretty good profit awaits us with the Nike ISPA Road Warrior Volt.
Nike Zoom ISPA Road Warrior “Volt”
Retail price: $500
Estimated Resell: $900
Release Date: 07/17/2020
Colorway: Sail/Multi-Color
This sneaker features a design that represents exactly what ISPA is trying to be. Nike is trying to reinvent sneaker design by continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation and design.
It appears to be a mesh of designs from different sneakers. The Stacked air zoom units seem to be borrowed from the Nike Zoom AlphaFly Next%. Energy return from the Nike bb Shox, double under foot plates and also a new binding system for a more secure fit.
It takes inspiration even from Japanese traditional shoes as seen on the out-sole. This neoteric design seems to be the future for a lot of Nike sneakers.
Take a closer look with these detailed images.
Estimated Resell
I believe these will be very profitable as only 8000 pairs are being produced. That means resale is sure to be very high as they are also expected to sell out fast.
To get your money back, you’ll need to sell for at least $600 after applying a standard US tax rate and service fee. Thus, by using my estimated resell value, you’re look at profits of around $300 or more.
As you can see, they’ve been sold for as high as $1,800. There’s a lot of money to be made here folks!
Nike ISPA Road Warrior Where to Buy
You can buy these at select Nike retailers and Nike.com for $500 on the 17th of July. That’s a high price to pay but it should definitely be worth it.
