Nike Dunk Low

Long before the revered Nike SB division started producing iconic skating sneakers, the Dunk low was the go-to sneaker for skaters. During the 1990s, skaters mostly used this sneaker along with the Air Jordan 1 for various reasons.

The Dunks had excellent traction and ankle support which is just what skaters needed. The sneakers better stuck to the boards and made maneuvering easier. Lastly, the Dunk Low also has 3M reflective panels which suited skaters perfectly.

The Nike Dunk Low was created in 1985 specifically for basketball. They had no special Zoom Air Pod, padded tongues, nor any nylon materials. However, the skate scene adopted the Dunks which later on became a street-wear icon.

Many argue that the Nike Dunk Low has become more of a lifestyle sneaker than a performance one. With the inclusion of suede and similar materials, that does seem to be the case. Thus more and more people have started wearing them as street-wear.

With crazy collaborations such as the Kasina x Nike Dunk Low Neptune Green and Comme Des Garcons Nike Dunk , the Dunk Low has become one of the best investments of 2020 for resellers.

Although Korea borrows most of its styles and trends from neighboring Japan, that is all set to change according to EunHyuk Lee, founder of Kasina.

Kasina was started off as a skateboard shop in Korea. Though they didn’t sell street-wear back then, Kasina did have sportswear like Nike, Adidas, and Reebok. Lee said in an interview that Kasina was set to establish Korea’s own street-wear identity very soon.

With major collaborations with companies such as Reebok and Nike, that may just become a reality very soon. Their latest product with Nike, the Kasina x Nike Dunk Low Neptune Green is highly anticipated and is expected to be a huge hit.

To estimate its resale value, let’s head on over to StockX.

From humble beginnings in the small town of Busan, South Korea, to establishing multiple stores in the happening city of Seoul, Kasina tells its story through this new Nike Dunk Low.

The Neptune Green colorway takes a nod at the main highway between Busan and Seoul with signage that embellishes the sneaker in the form of a hang tag. Moreover, “Busan” and “Seoul” can be found on the heel tabs of each sneaker individually.

“Kasina” is embroidered on the tongue of each sneaker in black, highlighted by red stitching. To further the story, the sneakers comes with tissue prints that further hint at road signs from the main highway.
