Nike React Element 55 x Kendrick Lamar: Resale Price Guide
Throughout Kendrick Lamar’s musical career, he’s always challenged what most rappers talk about and created his own lane ̵1; especially for a dude from Compton.
Kendrick’s superior creative talent as a musician can’t be disputed at this point in his career, and if the previous collaborations on the Nike Cortez model didn’t solidify his talent when it comes to aesthetic design, I think these will.
Meet the Kendrick Lamar x Nike React Element 55.
The musical genius is bringing us a shoe design that’s complete fire and ice cool at the same time.
The color balance and the way each part of the shoe seamlessly transitions into the next you’d swear K.Dot was a designer.
Nike says the colorway was inspired by Yin and Yang, “representative of the back and forth of real world living.” Now, if that doesn’t sound like Kendrick Lamar I don’t know what does.
The rapper who’s always been about doing what’s right and being true to yourself even if seemingly everyone around is doing the opposite, perfectly blends “Pure Platinum, Clear, and Wolf Grey-Black” to bring us one milky colorway.
Let’s breakdown the design, how to buy, and what the resale value of these blessings from the Sneaker Gods.
Design Review: Nike React Element 55 x Kendrick Lamar
The scale doesn’t tip at all with this colorway – the shoe is literally matches the dark with equal amounts of light as Kendrick uses the mysterious “Wolf Grey-Black” to offset the divine brightness of the “Pure Platinum”.
As you see, these kicks sport a marbled upper that’s so clean you might mistake it for a kitchen countertop. One side being light and the other dark – truly Yin and Yang.
Church choirs don’t even blend this well.
Kendrick speckles the creamy grey sole with black seeing that it’s cohesive with the light and dark sides.
Using a minor amount reflective details accents this neutrality of this colorway beautifully. Most popping things in this day and age have an over the top amount of flare – take notes on how Kendrick meets those requirements but doesn’t allow them to steer his vision.
And to make sure the theme of Yin and Yang is present throughout every single aspect of these sneakers, we’re given a set of white laces with a very faint grey streak running the middle, and a Wolf Grey-Black set.
As the bell for aesthetic appreciation class sounds and everyone is picking their jaws up from the floor – let’s talk about how to make these a part of your collection.
