Nike recently released an Air Force 1 in the form of “Indigo”. While being original and novel at the moment, the pair was just a drop in the bucket of a collection that is now rising. We̵7;re about to discuss the new version of the sneaker, with some elements shifted or omitted altogether.

In the last few months, Nike has developed quite a taste for nature. The company has embraced nature of all kinds with classics like Blazer Mid and the most famous of which is “Indigo.” The same plant is now making its way to Air Force 1.

The Nike Air Force 1 “Indigo” will be available on April 29th at a retail price of $110.

NIKE AIR FORCE 1 — History behind the icon

Nike Air Force 1 is one of the most iconic sneakers in the company’s history. The sneaker was first introduced in 1982 under the name “Air Force.” Evolved from a successful basketball silhouette to a street essential. The sneaker has gained global popularity and since its debut, the sneaker has featured in more than 2000 variants.

Bruce Kilgore was assigned a task to design a new basketball silhouette in the early 1980s and his first attempt at a sneaker resulted in the Air Force 1. We wouldn’t call it beginners luck because he later on designed many iconic silhouettes like the Air Jordan III.

The upper of the sneaker is constructed with a white canvas and some aqua blue color that extends from the Swoosh to the heel tab and the tongue. We can also see embroidered text and visual illustration on the sides that explain the “Indigo” itself.

The heel tab features Nike Air branding on one shoe and some informative text on the other. The Air-filled midsole is in pure white that matches the overall look of the sneaker with recycled rubbers that supports the cork outsole. Scroll down to enjoy more pictures of this silhouette.
