Air Jordan 3| The Best Jordan Sneaker?

Air Jordan 3 Elephant Print Blue History Dribbble

Many Air Jordans have been released but non have surpassed the Air Jordan 1 when it comes to popularity and greatness, except of coarse, the Air Jordan 3. Widely considered as perhaps the best Jordan sneaker ever.

Tinker Hatfield designed this legendary silhouette right after he was assigned with creating a new sneaker. Hatfield stated that he had never met Jordan prior to unveiling this sneaker and he was very nervous.

As soon as Michael saw the sneakers, he smiled instantly and after a 20-minute conversation about the AJ3, the sneaker was official. Interestingly, MJ’s reaction was the complete antethesis of when he saw the Air Jordan 1, which he called “Clown Like”.

This is also one of the most important Jordan sneakers as it established the Jordan brand as a strong enough company to forgo the ‘Swoosh’ and stand on its own feet. Hatfield came up with the idea which was met with a lot of criticism at first.

Eventually however, the ‘Swoosh’ was swapped for the Jump-Man while a “Nike” logo was placed on the heel. Other design changes that were subject to criticism were the elephant prints and tumbled leather. Michael, however, gave the thumbs up for both and argued that they looked “Luxurious”.

The AJ3 was then released in 1988 and ever since is considered one of Tinker Hatfield’s greatest to date.

Retro sneakers have of the AIr Jordan 3 have been a huge success so far. When they re-retroed the sneaker in 2003, stores actually had a difficult time selling them peacefully. Every one wanted a pair!

Also, since this is considered one of Michael Jordan’s favorite ever sneakers and after extensive and ingenious marketing methods, the Air Jordan 3 is still extremely popular.

The Air Jordan 3 Court Purple is inspired by the Phoenix Suns which has also has implemented on other Jordan sneakers.

The Phoenix Suns and Michael Jordan have had one of the greatest rivalries in the sport. Which MJ, of coarse, dominated with a record of 27-10. The court purple AJ3 is inspired by Jordan’s greatest rivals which Jordan Brand have celebrated through different sneakers before.
