Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha – Release and Resale Guide
*The Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha is being restocked and will be arriving on December 19 at your favorite retailers*
All your Jordan fans, I have great news for you. After countless rumors and potential delays we finally have confirmation. We are finally getting a new rendition of the Jordan 1 Highs at the end of this month. The Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha is releasing on 31st October for a retail price tag of $170.
After seeing the Netflix documentary, The Last Dance, those of us who weren’t even basketball fans have been transformed into one. People are finally beginning to understand why the Jordan brand means so much to its followers.
The reason is simply, Michael Jordan himself. This epitome of a sports-man transformed the entire sport by himself. Now, I’m not saying that people like Larry Bird or Magic Johnson had no impact. But what I am saying is that Michael Jordan transformed the sport into a global phenomenon.
The phrase “Like-Mike” traversed through cultural and physical boundaries and everyone just wanted a piece of Michael Jordan. And this is where Nike came in and did its thing. It offered fans a physical product that had the life and name of the greatest ever basketball player embodied within it.
Let’s take a look at how the Air Jordan brand has performed over the years.
Feel free to skip to the end to find out how much you can resell the Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha for.
The Jordan Brand
In 1985, the Air Jordan 1 took the world by storm. People were queuing outside of stores to get their hands on the coveted first pair. However, legend has it that the shoes were almost killed before they could see the light of day.
The reason was the NBA commission. They wouldn’t allow Michael Jordan to wear the shoes on the court as they didn’t follow the league’s dress-code rules. However, in classic Jordan fashion, he wore the shoes and incurred whatever the fines they placed on him.
Nike steps in and tells Jordan to keep wearing the shoes and they’ll pay the fines for him. And the rest, as they say, is history. Over time, we have seen renditions after renditions of the Air Jordan 1.
Let’s take a look at some of my personal favorites and how they’ve performed over time.
Air Jordan 1 Retro Legends of Summer Red Glitter

Air Jordan 1 OG Chicago (1985)
The shoe that started it all. The notorious Jordan 1. Even today fans are willing to pay top-dollar for this Jordan 1 and who can blame them? This right here is a piece of history.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White Chicago
This was probably the most anticipated sneaker in 2017. This was the first time that Virgil Abloh – a highly in-demand designer worked with the Jordan brand for the first time around. Virgil and the Jordan team did not stray too far away from the original Chicago theme and kept the red, black, and white colorway.

Retail Price: $190
Highest Resale Value: $4421
Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha
The Jordan 1 Dark Mocha is releasing on 31st of October for a retail price tag of $170. The sneaker features a Sail, Dark Mocha, and Black colorway.
Some of you will be scratching your heads and thinking “Hold on, this looks a whole lot like the Travis Scott release”. Well guys, your analysis is right. Some have called this latest release a “poor man’s Travis Scott edition”.
And we can see why, when we look at both of the shoes:
Travis Scott x Air Jordan
Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha
Both of them have a great deal of similarity and for the non-enthusiast, they might even think it’s one and the same. Is it possible that Jordan is trying to bank on the popularity of the Travis Scott release? We can’t say anything for sure. But one thing is certain, those of us who couldn’t get our hands on the Travis Scott colorway will definitely try our hands on this one.
Where to buy?
The Jordan 1 Dark Mocha will be releasing at select retailers and on the Nike SNKRs app. At the moment, we’re unable to find the sneaker on reseller’s websites but make sure you’re following us on Instagram to find out where you can buy them.
Resale Value
Since the colorway is highly similar to the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 release, some might think that it might resemble the resale value as well. However, that would be a foolish mistake. The Travis Scott Jordan 1 retailed for $175 and is currently being resold for above $1000.
However, this will not be the case for Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha. It does not have the name of La Flame attached to it. But at the end of the day, it is still a Jordan. Therefore, looking at historical trends and figures, we can estimate that the resale value of the Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha will be between $350-400.
Unfortunately, StockX does not have the shoe currently listed on its website so we cannot accurately gauge the market at this point. Therefore, make sure you keep visiting this page for updates on the performance of the Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha.
