Today the sneaker we will be taking a look at is the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Orange Camo’!
**Please skip to the conclusion for the need-to-know about the release**
Releasing on June 19th, for $140, this shoe is a must-cop for all sneakerheads!
Much like the previous “Reverse Duck Camo” and “Green Camo” pairs, this edition of the Nike Air Max 90 features a Bright Orange mesh upper with camouflage printed overlays paired with Black leather Swooshes on the sides.
White laces and midsole atop a Black and Orange rubber outsole complete the design.
In order to get a better feel for this sneaker, we’ll be taking a look at some other similar sneakers.
First up, the Nike Air Max 90 Reverse Duck Camo (2020).
Nike celebrated Air Max Day by releasing the Nike Air Max 90 Reverse Duck Camo (2020).
This colorway is a fresh take on the classic Atmos Air Max 90 design that debuted in 2013.
This Air Max 90 consisted of an Infrared mesh upper with a Duck Camo mudguard and black quarter panels. A Nike Air branded heel tab, white midsole, and black outsole completes the design.
These sneakers released on March 26th of 2020 and retailed for $140.
All of the sneakers we will be talking about today are part of the ‘Duck Camo’ line.
This sneaker is currently reselling for around $205, bringing in steady profit since March.
Secondly, the Nike Air Max 90 Green Camo.
This Air Max 90 is comprised of a volt mesh upper with a duck camo mudguard and black rubber underlays.
A white midsole, bolt air max unit, and volt and black outsole complete the design. The sneakers released on May 15 of 2020 and retailed for $140.
Something you’ll notice about the Camo line is that they are very specific shoes. What I mean by that is in order to style the, you really have to choose the right outfit.
There really haven’t been any on-feet pictures of the Green Camo, presumably for this reason.
Due to this, the sneaker has been reselling a little bit lower than it’s accompaniment, the Reverse Duck Camo. The Green Camo has had over 4,000 sales on StockX with a 20.6% price premium.
Currently, the going rate for these kicks is about $180 – $190 depending on the size that you are looking for.
As I said, this is presumably due to the lack of wearability in the sneakers but also due to the fact that we have already seen a similar Air Max 90. When shoes re-release in a different colorway, the resell usually isn’t as high because the hype has decreased.
I am not insinuating this sneaker isn’t dope, because it absolutely is. I personally believe the entire camo line is some of the designs that Nike has put out.
The third and final shoe we will be talking about is by far the one with the most hype: the Nike Air Max 90 Atmos “Duck Hunter Camo”
The limited-edition kicks boast camouflage print throughout much of the upper, with surrounding hints of black suede and Infrared accents.
A textured leather Swoosh provides further entice alongside, as black laces accompany, and a white midsole offsets underneath.
Atmos is a prominent Japanese streetwear and sneaker boutique based in Tokyo, Japan, founded by Hidefumi Hommyo in 2000. Alongside its sneaker and streetwear offerings, atmos also sell its in-house label both in-store and online.
Atmos initially began as a minuscule retail store in the narrow backstreets of Ura-Harajuku in Tokyo before gradually expanding over the years in influence, stocking major brands such as Nike, Adidas, ASICS, and PUMA.
Atmos was formalized several years later, quickly establishing itself in the nascent Japanese streetwear scene with a number of highly coveted collaborations. Atmos currently has six shops in Tokyo and one in Osaka, as well as its only international outlet in New York City.
A collaboration like this is the reason for the high resell price of this shoe. Retailing at $170, the average sale price of this sneaker is $793. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on this prestigious pair, you’re in for some serious profit.
All in all the Air Max 90 ‘Orange Camo’ is an absolute must-cop for sneakerheads and resellers alike!
All things considered, I think the Orange Camo colorway will prove to do decent on the aftermarket.
The sneaker is not a collaboration and therefore will not put up the same numbers as the Atmos Air Max 90. But we also have to consider the colorway and the season.
Summer is here and bright colors are the perfect summer colorways. This sneaker is not only bright but also ranked #5 on the top Nike summer models.
Not only is this a summer shoe, but the Air Max 90 is also a very durable sneaker and works in fall.
