January is a great month to start off reselling as it might align with your new year’s resolution and also because this is when a lot of hyped sneakers usually drop. Such as the CNY Nike releases that are usually limited and resell for a small fortune at times.
With that out of the way, let’s get right on the list!
Nike Dunk Low Reverse Brazil
- Retail Price: $110
- Average Resell: $150
- Release Date: Monday, January 2nd, 2023
- Colorway: APPLE GREEN/YELLOW STRIKE-WHITE
- Style Code: DV0833-300
Only a few recognized hues of the many Dunk Low releases Nike has given customers throughout the years have retained their reputation as classics.
The all-new “Reverse Brazil” colorway flips the brilliant color-blocked pattern of the 2001 “Brazil,” bringing it back to life.
In contrast to the original, the sporty edition is dressed in an “Apple Green” foundation with striking “Yellow Strike” overlays on the mudguards, lacing systems, heel counters, and medial Swooshes.
At the heels are green stitched Nike logos, and the nylon tongues include classic brand tags. The design is supported by customary white midsoles and green rubber outsoles, which finish the collection.
The color scheme is perfect for anybody who wants to respect the South American nation of Brazil since it represents Brazil left, right, and center.
Apart from this reverse retro, these sneakers were also released in 2020 for around $100 and were extremely profitable. The Dunk Low Brazil from 2020 costs over $400 on the secondary market. These sneakers will likely not be as profitable, but I still expect a gross profit of around $40 per pair.
Air Jordan 9 Olive Concord
- Retail Price: $200
- Estimated Resell: $280
- Release Date: Saturday, January 7th, 2023
- Colorway: BLACK/BRIGHT CONCORD/LIGHT OLIVE/AQUATONE
- Style Code: CT8019-034
The Air Jordan 9 has been a small player in Jordan Brand’s yearly lineup for the previous several years, making it simple to ignore.
The design recently lacked any eye-catching partnerships and restricted the number of throwback releases.
However, the shoe cements its position as an unmistakable mainstay in the Air Jordan lineup by continuing to be dressed in stylish hues that are free of any gimmicks or fads.
The soon-to-be 30-year-old shoe’s newest design is a “Light Olive” that updates its original “Olive” appearance with “Bright Concord” and “Aqua” highlights.
The sneaker closely replicates the upper of its forerunner, with the exception of its branding parts, which serve as a twist. It has a black leather basis for its top and a soft greenish-brown at its nubuck mudguard and heel overlays.
The tongue, sock liner, sole, and heel logo, as well as the heel tab on the back, all have the aforementioned blue and purple embellishments.
The sole’s further features include an all-black finish that complements the shoe’s tongue, inside and laces.
The Air Jordan 9 “Light Olive” has yet to get an official release date from Nike. It is presently anticipated to be on sale for $200 USD on January 7 via Nike and a few other retailers.
On the secondary market, it is difficult to estimate how profitable they will or will not be as there are not a lot of recent models to compare them to. However, similar colorways yield great profits; I believe these will sell for around $280 per pair or more.
WMNS Nike Dunk Low Panda Restock
- Retail Price: $100
- Estimated Resell: $250
- Release Date: Thursday, January 13th, 2023
- Colorway: White/Black/White
- Style Code: DD1391-100
When the Nike Dunk Low Panda was first released last year, it gained a lot of public favor. Women’s sizes of these shoes have a high resale value, which has made them very well-liked among female sneakerheads. Thankfully, they are releasing in women’s and men’s sizes this January.
The uppers are made of smooth leather and feature a fairly straightforward design. White leather underlays provide a neutral foundation with striking black leather overlays on top that elegantly contrast the upper.
Black leather is used for the toes, Swooshes, heel overlays, and eye stays, which goes nicely with the matching black laces. Tongue tags have a white “Nike” emblem and black sock liners.
Crisp white midsoles and black outsoles complete the “Panda”-like appearance, which contrasts with the black heel tabs and white “Nike” stitching.
Even after releasing a bunch of times, the popularity of this sneaker remains, and they’ll likely resell for around $250 per pair.
Air Jordan 1 High OG True Blue
- Retail Price: $180
- Average Resell: $280
- Release Date: Saturday, January 14th, 2023
- Colorway: TRUE BLUE/WHITE/CEMENT GREY
- Style Code: DZ5485-410
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “True Blue,” which first caught the attention of sneakerheads back in September thanks to early leaks, has now been unveiled by Nike.
The Air Jordan 3 “True Blue,” designed by Tinker Hatfield, serves as the inspiration for Jordan Brand’s next retro release, which is drawn from their nostalgic archive.
While the overall appearance doesn’t quite replicate every aspect of the 1988 masterpiece, it does borrow parts of its color palettes.
When it is applied to the Swooshes, laces, internal liners, ball-and-wings logos, and overlays that sit close to the neck and around the toe boxes, its nominal color accomplishes the majority of the heavy lifting.
The nubuck ankle flaps and lower heels are accented in “Cement Grey,” but there are no elephant print details. From there, the AJ 3’s heavenly uppers are channeled via nylon tongues, ventilated toe boxes, collars, and quarter panels. The tongues and insoles include further branding in the shape of Nike Air accents.
These sneakers are very reminiscent of the original Nike Dunk Kentucky sneakers, apart from the grey hits on the collar overlays.
This Air Jordan will likely be very profitable as well. They’re selling for over $350 on StockX and will likely drop down to around $280.
Standout Sneakers to Resell: Pawnshop x Nike SB Dunk High
- Retail Price: N/A
- Average Resell: $400+
- Release Date: Saturday, January 14th, 2023 (TBC)
- Colorway: N/A
- Style Code: FJ0445-001
The Californian skate store Pawnshop Skate Co. will unveil its version of the Nike SB Dunk High, first hinted at in August.
The exquisite shoe, which was previously teased with an on-foot glance, now gets in-hand images and more close-up pictures. Co-founder Anthony Piscopo, the father of Nike SB team rider Donovon Piscopo, uses high-end materials and gilded accents to symbolize the So-Cal skate culture.
The shape is set off by a foundation made of very smooth black leather, which is complemented with subdued deep brown toe boxes and medial Swooshes with golden contrast stitching.
The “Wing & Wheel” insignia of Pawnshop Skate Co. is tastefully stitched onto the ankle flaps and embossed on the insoles, while the same linear decoration is present on the heels.
Only one eyelet has a metallic sheen, whereas the others all come in tones. Brown perimeter boundaries and co-branded emblems are embossed on leather tags with black nylon tongues.
The design is finished off with brown suede liners, white midsoles, and black rubber outsoles.
Not much is known about these SB Dunk Highs in terms of their retail price as well as their actual release date. However, detailed images have arrived, as you can see in the one above.
The overall style and design of the shoes are great, and these will be very popular as well, but if they are a skate shop-only release, then that could be a problem for those that want to cop.
Skateshop x Nike SB releases are always very exciting, such as the Frame Skate x Nike SB collaboration. I expect these to be very profitable if you can get your hands on them.
Air Jordan 5 Mars For Her
- Retail Price: $200
- Average Resell: $260
- Release Date: Friday, January 15th, 2023
- Colorway: Picante/Bright Mandarin-Fire Red-Muslin-Black
- Style Code: DD9336-800
Jordan Brand is already planning its releases for the first few months of 2023, even though the year is still just a few weeks old.
The Air Jordan 5 “Mars for Her” for women, which first surfaced online around the end of November, has been formally introduced by Nike and is one of the highlights on their calendar for January.
The shoes have a bright style and, from a distance, may be mistaken for the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” because of its flaming suede top.
However, this version uses a “Martian Sunrise” color that is a little darker and more reminiscent of the planet’s scenery, thus the term.
Solid black Jumpman insignias are positioned on the lower heel, while tonal “23” hits are placed on the lateral heel and are accompanied by black shadowing.
The midsoles below have black backgrounds and spikes that have been altered to create a blazing-hot gradient.
The Air Jordan 5 has not had a great couple of years in terms of resale performance, as even the Jordan 5 Raging Bull resells for lunch money in profits. However, perhaps this might change that.
Nike Dunk High Panda Restock 2023
- Retail Price: $115
- Estimated Resell: $200
- Release Date: Thursday, January 19th, 2023
- Colorway: Black/White
- Style Code: DD1399-105
The Nike Dunk High Panda, along with the now-iconic Dunk Low panda, makes a return this January and will likely be very profitable still. These sneakers have been sold almost 100 thousand times on the secondary market alone but somehow still grasp their value.
The Dunk High Panda features Black toes and eye stays along with black leather Swooshes white tongues with red Nike branding. Meanwhile, white midsoles and black outsoles finish off the design.
Expect a resale value of around $200 per pair.
Air Jordan 1 Low Elevate Year of The Rabbit
- Retail Price: $140
- Estimated Resell: $400+
- Release Date: Saturday, January 21st, 2023
- Colorway: N/A
- Style Code: DV1312-200
A unique collection is always delivered when it’s time to celebrate Lunar New Year, so it’s no surprise that Jordan Brand fights hard for the Asian population.
Even if the celebrations aren’t over yet, we’ve already had a sneak glimpse at the company’s “Year of the Rabbit collection,” which includes the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, Luka 1, Air Jordan 37, and others. And now the Air Jordan 1 Low Elevate is making its debut.
The kicks maintain the same earthy aesthetic as the other of the Chinese New Year capsule’s products.
The overlays that cover the toe tips, the area around the neck, and the outsoles are all draped in a dusty green color that is particularly noticeable here.
Suede textures are applied to swooshes and raised heel overlays; the former is filled with brown, while the latter protrudes in a brilliant yellow.
There are white liners within the kicks that resemble the fuzzy skin of a rabbit. The insides of the tongues are embellished with a bunny emblem, and the numerical notation specifies which pair it is out of 5,000 that are being produced of the aforementioned Air Jordan 1 Low OG.
CNY sneakers from Jordan Brand or Nike are mostly very profitable, and due to the 5000 stock limit, I expect this Air Jordan to be worth around $400 per pair.
