Welcome in y’all. I’m psyched for this one today. The Nike Dunk High in “Varsity Purple”; is expected to release on Thursday December 3rd, for $120 on Nike SNKRS among other retailers. The shoes will be in women’s sizing, so fellas remember to size 1.5 up.

Comparable Dunks
Basically, Dunks are becoming the uniform for every hype beast. Whatever colors suit you best, there’s sure to be a Dunk on the market for you. We’ve said it time and time again, but 2020 has been the year of the Dunk. And while we’ve seen many colorways before, the on-hand “Varsity Purple” iteration is new, although it does have similarites to the “City Attack” pack from 1999.
The Spartan Green Dunk to drop recently shares the same color blocking with the Varsity Purple. A tried and true style for anyone. Current resale averages in the $270 ballpark
Another college-esque Dunk High to release this past fall was the Michigan Dunk. One that sells in the upper $200 range as well.
Last but not least is the Turdunken, a special collab with Concepts that had its release this past week. Just in time for Thanksgiving.
It may not seem like a lot but pegged at such a low retail like Dunks typically are, you’re still getting a $150 to $200 profit if the shoes sell into the high $200 or low $300 range. Consider that next time you’re considering buying the newest pair of Fear of God 1’s for $350 at retail.
The Looks
Uppers mix white and purple leathers in traditional Dunk fashion: white is on the toe box, quarters and collars while purple drapes the mudguards, eyestays, Swooshes, laces, collar flaps and heels. This simple-yet-effective colorblocking scheme is familiar to any Dunk fanatic, like we alluded before.
What’s not familiar is the gold detailing on the Nike tongue tag and the premium satin collar lining. Down below, the mix of new and old is continued with a crisp white midsole on a purple-tinted translucent outsole.

Conclusion and Resale Anticipation
Folks are already clamoring about the L that they’re going to take on the SNKRS app. Let’s all share in some optimism for once! While these may be difficult to get, hopefully we’ll have more than just Nike as an avenue to buy from. As we get closer, keep your eyes out for raffles from the usual suspects – END, Xhibition, Extra Butter, Concepts, Bodega, etc. Resale with be quite profitable.
