Jordan sneakers are still extremely popular, and the recent collaborations and colorways have extended their lifecycle even more, especially for some models such as the Air Jordan 2.
Before we get into the list, let’s analyze the market in 2022 for Air Jordans.
Air Jordan: State of Resale In 2022
Jordan Brand has always been one of the most consistently profitable and hyped sneakers for resellers and Jordan Brand alike.
These kicks are always selling out left or right if they are released in one of the top 12 silhouettes. Although profits vary greatly, these sneakers are still almost always profitable and a good bet when starting out reselling.
You will need to be careful, however, as the hype factor of each of these silhouettes is constantly changing. For example, the Air Jordan 1s used to be king.
As the original Jordan sneaker with a lot of history behind it, the Air Jordan 1, for a long time, was the go-to Jordan sneaker. They sold out and continue to sell out, but OG colorways had a higher resale value a few years ago than they do now.
The Air Jordan 3 was also extremely popular at the time, especially right after the release date. Michael Jordan reportedly smiled the first time he saw them, which has made all the difference.
Resale was also high a few years back; however, that has currently fallen to almost nil as new colorways are now barely breaking even.
Now, it’s likely the best time to be an Air Jordan 4 fan as they sell out and still yield decent profits on the secondary market. That likely has much to do with the recent retro releases, such as the Jordan 4 UNC and Thunder as well as attractive OG colorways.
2022 had much to offer in terms of profitable Jordan sneakers; take a look at our list below of the top 5 most expensive Jordans of 2022, including an honorable mention!

- Release Date: Friday, December 30th, 2022
- Colorway: WHITE/VARSITY RED/BLACK

Jordan Brand typically saves its hot ticket launches for the Christmas season, and the company will continue to tease upcoming releases at the tail end of 2022 in order to build anticipation for them.
The storied Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” was recently released and made a triumphant comeback this year, and now we’re discovering that the Air Jordan 2 “Chicago” will be joining its ranks.
It only seems logical that Jordan would bring back one of its original makeups, given that the Air Jordan 2 will serve as the imprint’s main focus this year, thanks to partnerships with Union LA, J Balvin, and other artists.
According to early sources, the next version would be created using all of its original characteristics to replicate its appearance from 1986.
The majority of the higher-cut uppers are made of white, but they also include black trim around the laces, the edges of the mid-foot overlays, the internal lining, and the midsoles. The wings emblems on the tongues and the Nike-branded heel molds are overt nods to MJ’s previous Chicago Bulls club colors. “Varsity Red” embellishments are also introduced.
Red “Air Jordan” wings motifs are on the tongues, with red hits around the rears, providing contrast. Black midsoles and white midsoles with black heels finish off the design.
On the secondary market, these kicks are worth around $420 per pair, which is over a $200 gross profit! The Air Jordan 2 really has made a triumphant return this year.
A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Violet Ore’
- Retail Price: $225
- Average Resell: $420
- Release Date: November 17th, 2022
- Colorway: Violet Ore/Medium Ash-Black-Muslin-Burgundy Crush
- Style Code: DV6773-220
The Whitaker Group has established itself as a household name in the sneaker industry because to praise for its fascinating narrative and dedication to supporting the Black community and its creatives.
James Whitner and his team revealed their next Air Jordan 4 collaboration after the release of their Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 2 “Playground” release.
Similar to other Jordan collaborations we’ve seen the store release, this release is made with high-end construction and style.
Here, the side panels, tongues, netting necks and quarters, laces, cages, overlays, and internal quilted liners are all submerged in a heavy dose of dusted “Violet Ore” color. An enormous “A” that rests on the left tongue and a button sewn into the collars serve as further AMM branding.
On the insides of the heel counters, inspirational text is also added to the mix. The left shoe reads, “It’s about where you’re going,” while the right shoe has the slogan, “It’s not about the shoes.”
To top it all off, A Ma Maniére flaunts the heel counters with the more palatable “Nike Air” hits.
The Air Jordan 4, as mentioned above, has risen in popularity even more so than before. This is largely thanks to retro colorways and popular collaborations such as this one that keep things fresh and extends this product’s lifecycle.
On the secondary market, these kicks are worth north of $410 per pair.
A Ma Manière Air Jordan 12 Black

The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 12 collaboration was released in two colorways and is a women’s exclusive that continues the retailer’s partnership with Jordan Brand.
Building on the closer look we have already seen, we now have a set of images focused on the details found on the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 12 “Black.”
The black nubuck uppers of the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 12 “Black” are accented with burgundy forefoot overlays.
The shoe is branded with badges at the tongue, co-branded lace eyelets, extended pull tabs, and printed insoles. The shoe’s design is completed with matching waxed laces, unique hangtags, and “Black/Burgundy Crush” AJ12 sole units.
The Air Jordan 12 “Black” by A Ma Maniére also has unique hangtags, co-branded insoles, and unique packaging.
The Air Jordan 12 itself was never really a sneaker that has a lot of history with Michael Jordan or a sneaker that was immensely popular with sky-high resale values. Although some colorways do sell out and are profitable, they mostly sell close to retail.
Collaborations are usually always a good bet, and you should always keep your eyes open for them. A Ma Manière has had a great year with Jordan Brand as their collaborative sneakers take up two spots on this list.
On websites such as StockX, the A Ma Manière Air Jordan 12 is worth over $420 per pair, yielding almost double the return.

This highly anticipated release carried on the artist’s ongoing “Cactus Jack” collaboration with Nike/Jordan Brand and flips the “Dark Mocha” hue introduced in 2019. The shoe’s color scheme for the summer was “Sail/University Red/Ridgerock.”
The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low Reverse Mocha has premium white leather overlays to contrast the light brown leather foundation.

Travis Scott has a huge following, and as a result, a lot of his fans want to get their hands on a pair or two. On the other side, many sneaker fans realize their worth and always try to cop one for themselves, either to wear or to resell for a huge premium.

AJ Morlanne –
Love the article, but your resale prices are a bit generous Although resale is great on only 2 or 3 pairs while you’re not getting a lot more than lunch money and a couple you won’t even recoup you’re initial investment. But nevertheless a really great article and very informative
Freddy Lansky –
You bring up an excellent point AJ, sneakers, esp the most extreme examples like these are like houses or cars are rather illiquid, some sell for much higher some lower. All depends on how much its worth to the buyer. Your totally right about 2-3 pairs only getting you only lunch money. If you really wanna make 4 or even 5 figures a month you have to learn how to bulk buy either with a plug b0tting (using our b0tting guide) and just taking advantage of every opportunity, especially in this downmarket you can’t be picky about what you’re going to flip.
