NIKE DUNK LOW — A Brief History
- The Nike Dunk debuted in 1985, and the rest is history. Despite being overshadowed by the Air Jordan 1, a non-flagship sneaker designed specifically for basketball grew to popularity.
- The Nike Dunks were initially known as the College Color Highs and were designed by Peter Moore. That’s because they were designed for various Nike-affiliated universities around the United States.
- After getting momentum with this campaign, Nike realized there was another sector that might be lucrative, the Skateboarding market.
- Nike Dunks were soon adopted by the skateboarders, and Nike wasted no time and In 2002, Nike launched its skateboarding wing.
- The Swoosh went for collaborations and limited sneakers right away, establishing itself as a maker of hyped and limited shoes and gear.
Nike now collaborated with FTC and this is not the first time. Let’s check out their previous collaboration to have an estimate about the resale price.

It’s back to the beginnings and deeper into history for the next Nike SB Dunk Low version. FTC’s creators Kent Uyehara and Nike SB present an outdoor version of Sento bathhouses, soaking in Japanese heritage.
Bright blue suede covers the toebox, quarters, and collars. With white leather overlays in tile-like pattern paying homage to the tile flooring seen in many bathhouses.
The Swoosh on the other hand is dipped in metallic silver with yellow heel tabs with blue FTC embroidery instead of the traditional Nike branding.
The tongue tags are also very detailed with blue mesh and yellow edges, featuring Japanese characters on the inner half and SB/FTC branding on the front.
Bellow the blue translucent outsole and a white midsole complete the look.
