I never would have thought that I’d be part of this multi-billion Dollar shoe reselling market which just keeps on getting bigger as self-made kids are cashing in on a slice of the pie.
And no company has had a bigger influence on this market than Nike.
Skip to the conclusion for quick info on the resale prediction, where to buy and more.
History
I’m sure we all remember the OG Nike Air Jordan 1. You know the pair made exclusively for Michael Jordan? Well that pair is what inspired the Nike SB dunk along with AJ3 by the design.
Although the AJ1 was successful at first, Nike had made too many of them. They were left on shelves collecting dust till their prices had to be cut.
Skaters looking for shoes with excellent traction and a low price were pleasantly surprised with the AJ1. Thus, Nike had the idea of coming up with the Nike SB in 2002.
Through great story telling, limited distribution channels and an improved design, skaters and sneakerheads alike fell in love. It is a multi-billion Dollar industry today.
Nike Dunk SB Low Supreme White Cement
Retail Price: $65
Peak Resell: $3,327
Release Date: 09/01/2002
Colorway: Cement/Grey
One of the first Nike SB dunks, believe it or not were not big deal. No long lines and definitely no resellers instantly reselling them for a profit.
Only about 500 pairs were released and sold in 2 different cities (Tokyo, New York). This pair was released along with the “Black Cement” colorway and was Nike’s first collaboration with Supreme.
They were obviously inspired by the cherished Air Jordan 3 with the grey elephant print. It was reviewed pleasantly by skaters and sneakerheads alike.
Even though they lacked the hype, this is probably on every resellers cop list even if you already own a pair.
According to StockX, the trade range is between $2,832-$3,823 with the average being $2,390. You can see why they’re so desperately sought after. You may earn a potential profit of $3,262. These kicks are gold!
A positive indication for good resale value on the Nike SP Dunk Syracuse and Kentucky. But. They are OGs after all.
So let’s take a look at some more recent releases to get a better idea of how well they may be resold.
Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Dark Russet Cedar
Retail Price: $90

COLORWAY: Dark Russet/Cedar
This variant of the SB dunk includes a sued white upper with the russet and Cedar overlays. The same color tone covers the laces, Nike swoosh, interior and the rubber out-sole.
A white mid-sole and a white tongue finish off the design. Quite reminiscent to the Syracuse colorway if you ask me!
The resale has gradually improved over time. The current trade range according to StockX is $127-$247 with the average price being $144. The value not only held over time but got better.

After the pair dropped, they were sold for around $150, today you can get over $200. The profit at peak resale value is $310.

Nike SB Dunk Low Syracuse/Kentucky

Peak Resell: Syracuse $800
Kentucky $470
Release Date: 03/14/2020
COLORWAY: Syracuse/Kentucky
The 2 new variants are finally making their way to you very soon on the 14th of march. This is in celebration of their 35th anniversary since they first debuted in 1985.
The Syracuse was last introduced as Nike’s college run in 2016 called “Be true”. The Kentucky and Syracuse were both revealed at the all-star weekend and have been desperately awaited by sneakerheads ever since.
The Kentucky features a white upper with Varsity Royal overlays, rubber out-sole and everything in between. The white is also present on the tongues, inner liners and the mid-sole to finish the design.
The Syracuse features a white leather upper with orange overlays. Orange laces, Nike swoosh, tongue lining with a rubber out-sole and white mid-sole.
There is also “Nike” Branding at the rear.
Now these will most likely be very high in demand guys so make sure to turn all notifications on the Nike app on. They will retail for $100 on Nike.com and select retailers.
But guys you’ve got to be fast as we’re sure these are to be sold out instantly. That’s why signing up to our news-letter is a great idea so you never miss out.
If you do miss out, you can always find them on reseller websites such as StockX and GOAT.
Resale Value
As I said, these pairs will be sold out immediately which probably means great resale value. The Syracuse $298-$392 and can be sold for a profit at peak resale for $700.
The Kentucky has a trade range of $309-$451 and can be sold for a max profit of $370. The average price is $337 and that’s the price premium of $280%.
That’s pretty good! However, as always to assess how they would do after release let’s make a more critical analysis.
Nike SB Dunk Low Neptune
Retail Price: $65
Peak Resell: $386
Release Date: 06/01/2006
COLORWAY: Neptune Blue
According to StockX, the trade range is between $324-$448 which is pretty neat. The average retail price is $234 and a peak profit of $321 could have been scored.
That’s a pretty good indication as this variant is extremely reminiscent of the “Kentucky”. The pattern also continues as it gains value over time.
Via StockX
You can also check out the Nike Dunk High Syracuse (2016) and the Dunk High Kentucky (2016) that show the same pattern of gaining value over time.
I believe it’s safe to say these are a cop, and if you can hold them for longer the better the profits!
Conclusion
For those in a hurry, I got you covered! The Nike SP Dunk Kentucky and Syracuse are 2 new colorways releasing on the 14th of March (Blue/Orange).
They retail for $100 each and can help you gain a profit of $370 for the Kentucky. $700 for the Syracuse.
Definitely a cop! Also make sure to hold on to them for a bit as the pattern shows appreciation in the long run.
You can find them at select retailers and Nike.com. If you failed to cop, visit StockX or GOAT, however you would have to pay resale prices.
