The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Rebellionaire” has a distinctive design that connects to the shoe’s legendary “Banned” tale, in which Michael Jordan was fined $5,000 every time the rookie broke the NBA’s uniform dress code at the time by wearing his characteristic black and red shoes on the court.

The classic high-top has a leather upper with two-tone color blocking that is evocative of the original “Shadow” shade. The red ‘X’ on the heel and the all-over print that reads “They Can’t Stop You From Wearing Them”—a quote from the original Air Jordan 1 TV commercial from 1985—are two distinctive features of the “Banned” AJ1.

About the Sneaker

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Skyline” is inspired by a classic piece of early Michael Jordan memorabilia, a promotional shot of MJ making his instantly recognizable Jumpman pose while in mid-flight, set against the Chicago cityscape and the sunset sky.

On each shoe’s textile overlay, gradient pink and lavender tones are applied in an ad hoc manner to mimic the latter. They are contrasted with a white-finished leather base and black embellishments on the internal lining, high-cut collar, and iconic Swoosh.

The midsole, which has encapsulated Air-sole cushioning and is strengthened by a black rubber outsole, has an aged off-white look.

The Resell Value

We predict these Air Jordans will have a resell value of $185, which leaves no room for profit and probably means this sneaker is running at a loss. This is because there are so many pre-release sales and prices are hovering at $200.

When the sneaker is released to the masses, that price will drop as the supply will increase. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other Jordans that will make you some hefty profit.

Checking pre-release sales is one of the best ways to predict a sneaker’s resell value.
